The Type One Rulebook is now complete. It is in the Resources section. As of 11-23-08 (three weeks from now), this rulebook will be the sole resource used in Type One tournaments. Before you make any comments or ask any questions, we ask that you please read the entire document from the beginning to the end. Enjoy. PDF - www.mleccg.com/HL2E/HLType1Rulebook2009.pdf

Just an addition, HWR and myself are now the "Rules Team". You may direct any official questions to either of us either in a thread or PM one of us if you want it kept a bit secret.

just looking over the rules. some good changes. on the grouping of reporters, I would think the card Soveriegn Media should be in that group Soveriegn Media is not in the Reporter group because even though by title it appears that it should, it is actually a card designed against Reporters, and thus, was kept separate.

now for this question. Desert read as such: All players must place the top two cards of their Endurance in their Discard Pile at the beginning of their turn.
Now I am reading how Desert works and I am confused
Desert – How Desert Works [from the new rulebook] Example 1 – Turn 1 Player A plays Desert from his hand during his turn. Player B discards 2 cards at the beginning of his turn. Turn 2 Player A discards 4 cards at the beginning of his turn (2 cards for each players turn). Player B discards 4 cards at the beginning of his turn (2 cards for each players turn). Example 2 – Turn 1 Player A uses a PreGame Gathering card to bring Desert into play, and must discard 2 cards before the end of his May Do/Must Do Phase. Player B plays a Reconnaissance at the beginning of his turn and ignores the effects of Desert. Turn 2 Player A discards 4 cards at the beginning of his turn (2 cards for each players turn). Player B discards 4 cards at the beginning of his next turn (2 cards for each players turn).
Where does this come from? I would think you would discard 2 cards on your turn. don't see where you have to discard 2 for each player.

now for this question. Desert read as such: All players must place the top two cards of their Endurance in their Discard Pile at the beginning of their turn. There is the problem, Desert doesnt read that way. That is the old errata'd text. All cards (except those in the current card errata on this document) read as the cards are printed. It is Mikes intention (and one of the concepts we worked from) that as many of the cards as possible play EXACTLY as they are printed. We only errata'd the cards that either: 1. were unplayable with thier original text 2. unbalanced the game in thier original text 3. needed to match thier 2ed counterpart

One very important thing to keep in mind is that this document is the ONLY document to be used in Type One format. This is why we suggested reading the entire rulebook before asking questions. To answer yours, Desert is as it reads on the card, not the errata version on the Watcher Database. The FAQ that we put for Desert was just to explain how it works since it can be confusing. The only cards that have any errata at all are contained in this document. We know that this will be a shock to some, but with all of the toolbox cards now available, a lot of the errata was moot. There are some specific cards that we will keep an eye on, that might have to be errataed in the future.
This is how Desert reads on the card:
Desert Location At the beginning of each turn in the Desert, each player must take the top two cards from his endurance and place them in his discard pile.

Basically, unless it is errataed in this document, it is as reads on the card. Just makes you want to pour through those 1ed cards doesn't it.

Just to give everyone the jist of the errata. It started out from the original 130 plus cards errataed to 37 cards that have errata.
