That soap box? Seriously... Richis is "super" generic immortal and he doesnt win tournaments. Generic Immortals just dont win. They might get a victory every now and then against Kanwulf or Caspian or Nakano, but they dont win tournaments. Why? Because they suck. Unless your doing a generic immortal only tournament, pick an immortal. Ha ha, you kill me!!! I don't know about you but just about every time I have played Richie in a tourney I have won. Generic immortals are not that big of an issue, if you want to make one to win you can. As you said, it all comes down to the builder and their abilities. Perhaps one day after Recruits if you come to a tourney out here and let Prowler and I know, we will bring Generic decks and you play whatever immortal you want just to see. What do you think?

What wins in highlander is doing the same thing over and over. You cant effectively do that with a generic. Any concept you come up with for a generic immortal, would be better used with an immortal.

I don't doubt it.
Generics are quite competitive. Anyone who says otherwise is probabaly a greg. And we all know what that means.

Someone who wins far more often then they lose at Highlander? Someone who has cut off HWR's head, yet has not had his head cut off by HWR?

Unless your doing a generic immortal only tournament, pick an immortal. Ritchie is only "Super Generic Immortal" in regards to running the FIRST generic immortal persona, the one with really no ability other than 3 Master cards. Now if you take into consideration the "Crystal" version, or the WoC version, they have a lot more to offer. Greg, I KNOW you are joking when you throw Caspian in with Kanwulf and Nakano. In no way am I saying those two immortals are inferior, quite the contrary. By but Gregs standards, I cant believe he would group Caspian in that same catagory. I am a firm believer that people who say an immortal is inferior are only people who have never seen a GOOD deck made of that persona. Case in point, Gregs own Felice Martin deck.

I would like to see Greg at Recruits Convention. It is good to have excellent competition to play against. "The kill of a seasoned Immortal"

Alright HWR , big words from someone who says they will show at tourneys and doesn't. Push that non tourney head shot you got off on me while I was distracted all you want, I don't care. I have played you once in an actual tourney, and normally don't run head shots in my decks since I am having fun. The older players know that if I get perturbed and go on a head hunting spree, it isn't pretty. So since you are skirting the issue of Generics being able to hold their own, are you going to put up or shut up?

This is getting good.
There is something that bothers me about this thread. It's really starting to look like the real reason generics didn't make it into 2nd ed was because greg doesn't like them.
I hope HWR shows him what a big mistake he made.

I hope HWR shows him what a big mistake he made. If he doesnt, I will. And I have dibs on first shot at him. I do think that its more than just Gregs dislike of Generics that has kept them from 2ed. I really DO think that the Design Team would rather put real faces on thier persona abilities rather than the Generic. This doesnt excuse Gregs dissing of the Generic immortals in general, however, and we plan on showing him the error of his ways.

Whoa, whoa! Generic immortals have the factor of not being expected because so many players point them as bad. Build them with Darius and they can use reserved cards that make them the equal of other decks. Richie doesn't win because the design team won't let him use signature cards, even in limited amounts. But like in Magic the Gathering, people can and do build strong decks with few or no 'rares.'

You have few special or edge cards. Combinaison Annie Devlin, Extra shot Kronos kiss yout butt goodbye should decrease defenses in your opponent hand.

You are right, The better Generic decks have a solid theme, and stick to it. As you pointed out, even though you use different cards, they have the same purpose, which can make the deck move smoothly. Add Martin Hyde's Combination to that list of yours as well.

Well I agree with previous comments. There is not a single deck of mine that you would be kill by one single lower attack each round. You are also very vulnerable to every deck that counter standing defense. I always have one or two cards to counter standing, and they would badly hurt you. (Trip, rush, Ruin...) + Focus police... You will be in trouble with Power Blows decks as well... Duncan/Connor Remembrance, Slan, Kurgan Claymore, will powerblow every turn, even on your guard, and you are not going to like it I didn't really think about how to improve your deck, but below are couple ideas: Forget Dodges. Just rely on your strategy. keep couple of them in your deck for safety, and discard them with a Kiss Your Butt Goodbye. By discarding your opponents dodges, you will force him to play lower blocks, which might really enoy him for playing lower attacks... I would play 6 overextended attack and therefore try to powerblow every turn... To be honest, I would not have chosen a generic persona, but Kastagir. Played is upper guard, and use a Saber to discard all the upper attacks and middle attacks... There is probably a lot more to say but I am at work ^_^
