Heya!
Guys, you are having trouble with this, I understand that. But to put things in perspective:
I LIVE in the KC area, and have been trying for the past 2 weeks to get a tourney, to no avail. It appears, that quite possibly, next friday it may happen. If we have this much trouble in the same CITY, I can only imagine what its going to be like OUTSTATE.
I agree that they should have gotten the ball rolling on this in the stores MUCH sooner. But, these guys all have OTHER jobs and lives. I dont envy them the work that has to go into all this. If we are patient, I think things will work themselves out. This IS the beta, afterall, just a glorified playtest.

Let me add patience to that list of things it is not about. It has nothing to do with patience, sympathy, playtesting, gratification, etc.
IMHO Here is the proper perspective...
The problem is you have a window of opportunity to expand the fan base associated with the CCGs introduction by sponsoring local events, creating an international network of representatives and in general "drumming" up excitement to create and expand a bona fide fan base.
That window was opened by the introduction of the Beta set (regardless of your definition of just what it is - "glorified playtest") and is closing each and every day. All you have to do is read some of the posts to see the dissatisfaction. Most likely that window will never reopen - or at best you have lost an opportunity.
All that is being said is that every day that passes without local support is damaging the chances of overall success for this enterprise - which was never guaranteed to begin with. I think most everyone here wants to see this succeed, but not having widespread company support at a grass roots level is damaging those chances.
This window is an underlying business concept and patience, though it is a noble trait, in this case doesn't help. Patience will not help you regain that opportunity. Unless you can open another window - never an easy thing to do - it is lost forever if it isn't utilized while it is open.
