CONSTRUCTING A DECK SECTION
Master Cards: During deck construction, you figure up how many Master cards you are allowed in your deck by the Persona and any other Pregame cards that may modify the number. Master cards are usually identified by having a version of the word “Master“ in the title or sub-category. For example: Master, Master’s Block, Master of the Kindjal, Master’s Stratagem, Forrest Master, etc... are all considered Master cards that count towards your Master card limit, and can be the target of any effect that targets Master cards.
Pregame Watcher and Watcher cards: If you choose to include Watchers in your deck, and your Persona Power doesn’t allow it, then you will have to include a Watcher Pregame that allows you to include Watcher cards in your deck during deck construction. This will allow you to include six Watcher cards in your deck. If the Watcher Pregame is removed from your Pregame during the game, you may continue to play those cards normally. If you choose to use a Watcher Pregame, you cannot use a Hunter Pregame. Watcher cards are usually identified by having a version of the word “Watcher“ in the title or sub-title. For example, Watcher, James Horton (Event), Watcher's Headquarters, Watcher Tattoo, etc.... are all considered Watchers and count toward your limit of six, and can be the target of any effect that targets Watcher cards.
Pregame Hunter and Hunter cards: If you choose to include Hunters in your deck, and your Persona Power doesn’t allow it, then you will have to include a Hunter Pregame that allows you to include Hunter cards in your deck during deck construction. This will allow you to include six Hunter cards in your deck. If the Hunter Pregame is removed from your Pregame during the game, you may continue to play those cards normally. If you choose to use a Hunter Pregame, you cannot use a Watcher Pregame. Hunter cards are usually identified by having a version of the word “Hunter“ in the title or sub-title and can be the target of any effect that targets Hunter cards.
FAQ SECTION
Kalas Persona (PP2023-012B) Clarification
Since this ability kicks in anytime a Watcher or Hunter card leaves play, it is an immediate effect, so that means it is a one for one situation.
For Example:
Player A (Kalas) - Plays one Watcher edge and one Watcher event.
Player B - Plays one Watcher situation.
Player A (Kalas) - During Sweep Phase, the two Watcher cards are are swept and due to the text of the Persona, he immediately draws a card for each one removed from the Game. During the May Do/Must Do Phase, Player A plays Insightful Planning on Player B's Watcher card capturing it. (It is face down beneath Insightful Planning and has NO effect on the Game).
Player B - Takes their turn.
Player A - Sweeps the Insightful Planning and the face down card beneath goes to it's owner's Discard. Kalas' Persona Power does not kick in because the face down card has NO effect on the Game.
