Pretty sure can put any Special into play. Just can you do it with the "in conjunction" like let's say Amanda Seduce? or Darius and into another Special ?
Richie Ryan Ashe's Blade (LG1-032) Object: Hilt Text You may only play or put this card into play if you are using the Richie Ryan persona and the Swiss Long Sword Weapon of Choice. Once per turn, if you do not play a Special Card, you may put one Special Card into play from a Hard Exertion.

Yes same effect as pre game. In fact you can put multiple special cards in play on same turn if you have ability to do so
(Example two case pre game) this sword hilt = 3 specials in play one turn.

the multiple iterations per turn part... not confusing. but the "in conjunction" effects all from exertion, is iffy.
you can get extra exertion Q and add on, so can even more. it's just timing / no timing for the in conjunction that im questioning.
it's powerful even without the in conjunction.
but hey, who* dont' like to exert and get Sedarius and 3 attacks on in one go.

well, lo and behold, i decided to read rules. dunno why. but here we go... to answer my own question:
Putting Cards Into Play: Some cards refer to being ‘put into play’. These cards are not considered played. As such, if they are a Special Card, they do not count as a Special Card played during your turn. Also, cards that are played in conjunction cannot be played with a card that is ‘put into play’.
this is from the 3rd edition rules. so there is direct rule on this. Ashe's Blade is still better, meaning, better than Kern stand alone. Kern needs beefing up. like two pregame slots or something. hah.

Let me give another example. You can put a location or special into play and still make a head shot that turn

yes, you can. my question was mainly about the "in conjunction" special cards. like a sedarius with head shot. with the rule, you cannot do a sedarius from the exertion at all. (not to mention, sedarius+head shot(event)).
