We had our State Championship a few weeks ago, and the winning deck was problematic.
It focused around the Amanda from the new Raven set and her signature The Raven plot.
Amanda: DISCARD: During your May Do/Must Do Phase you may Discard up to three non-Edge cards from your Hand to randomly Discard the same number of cards from your opponents [sic] Hand.
The Raven: Your opponent must play with their Hand face up. You do not have to randomly choose cards for your Persona Power.
On her first May Do/Must Do Phase she discarded 3 different The Gathering pre-games to search and put out The Factory location, The Raven plot, and Leo Adkins situation. Her opponent's hand is then face up, so she discards 3 cards and is able to choose 3 cards to discard from her opponent's hand. She discards anything that could remove her cards from play, and any Alertness. The cards she discards from her hand include her new Master's Attack and the Headshot event from the Quinten/Kuyler set, so they can return to her hand without her losing anything important. After she discards the last Alertness from her opponent's hand, she plays an upper attack with Seduce and the edge headshot (CVT-005 You cannot play this card if you have any other edge cards in play. Play in conjunction with a Basic Upper Attack. If you Discarded or Burned any cards this turn prior to your Attack Phase, this attack is a headshot.)
So now she has an unblockable and undodgeable headshot coming at her opponent, who has no cards in their hand that can stop it. If they exert, there are only a few defenses that can inherently defend it. If they had pre-game cards that would help them, she either removed them with Divine Intervention events or nullified them with Divine Intervention edges. With Factory out, her opponent can't draw, and she is able to play Reconnaissance or have other ways to ignore it if she wants to draw.
This deck went undefeated, and personally, I really don't see a way it will lose. She'll discard 3 of your cards, so you would need more than 3 things on a single turn that would allow her opponent to ignore/remove her cards.
Any thoughts on what can be done?
