I'm looking at my Dark Duncan set, and trying to figure out how to make this work, but i keep running into the problem of balance and ratios for the cards.
Would someone be able to give me some good pointers on how to build an illusion based deck? Or point out what I'm missing?

Hi
If I was playing an illusion based DD deck then the key point to consider is that normally you play illusions from an exertion. DD's ability is making an exertion from your opponent's deck so you really don't want to play illusions in the normal way. DD's key cards are Dark Quickening and Extra Shot which allow you to put an illusion into play from your hand. Dark Quickening is by far and away the better option because in all subsequent turns you can play a special card in the same turn as putting the illusion into play.
Generic cards like mountain cave should find a space in an illusion deck and the power of illusion is a good shout too. Depending on your WoC Concealed weapon might make the cut (heh!)
Hope that helps

Strongly recommend pregame that lets you put a plot into play
