As the holiday season is again very nearly at our throats, can we expect any of those fun Baker's Highlander Store coupons?? Hinty hint hint.

I am also interested in this. I've finally sold my wife on the idea that Highlander isn't a dead game that I'm collecting (like L5R, etc), but one that's alive, and I'm gonna build a community!

The biggest obstacle to a thriving Highlander community is a lack of current media, which is out of the hands of the design team. Considering the good job they are doing in keeping the game alive and accessible to new players, it's a shame it can't expand to the player base of the 90's. Anyway, my final L5R purchase will be next week, when the last ccg expansion goes on sale for 'shipping only' cost from Alderac's website. I may or may not attend the final Kotei in CA, hard to motivate myself to build a deck at this point. Hey thelastpaladin, keep in mind we are having a city and state championship in Feb. If you travel down here for L5R maybe you'll consider making the trip for our events? Also Regionals in May, I try to dig up some extra prizes to toss in as door/participation awards. In the past we've given out booster boxes, autographed cards, Type 1 and 2 bonus Quickenings, etc, as well as the Regional hilts and standard prize support. Food for thought. In case I show up for the Kotei, I'll be the only person wearing a Thunder Castle Games shirt.

Well,
I'm down for travelling for Highlander (gotta sell the wife, but I can do that). The lack of current media sucks, but my cube has been extremely popular and requested for play at least every other week. I suspect if I get enough in I'll be good. The problem is I can do cube just fine, but I have no experience in deckbuilding or what's good, or how to be good at deckbuilding yet. I'm still working on it, but I really want to. When are the Cali events?
As for L5R, my FLGS gave me two boxes of Evil Portents, and I'll get another from AEG. I won't be down for L5R (what's the point now?).

The first event is posted on the convention page. www.strategicon.net under collectable cards and games. Both events will be Saturday Feb 13, I just haven't posted what the state championship will be, Type 1 standard or Type 2 Lean and Mean. The city championship is Back to Basics Type 2 standard, also I am crediting everyone with having 6 Crystals in their pregame, so feel free to swap 6 basic attacks and/or blocks with 6 non special attacks/dodges. If you want you can use my Rebecca 'I usually win, sometimes' deck or my Marty Hyde regional winner (which I loaned someone to win MY event ) deck. Both are pretty basic strategy wise, but are winners. I would need at least a week notice if you want to borrow a deck, have to put it back together. Hope to see you there Geoff C
