Give us anything you've heard about SAEC here.
All I know is that when trying to see if my last order was going to be honored I was told that they had almost worked things out and it would be good for everyone.
Yeah, it's pretty vague, but it's all I got.

I've got a butt load of them. At one point they did a two-for-one so I ordered some more to use as trade bait in case the game picked up again, or sell of Ebay. If they aren't legal in the game then all they'll sell to is collectors, which means the market is glutted with them, since most hardcore collectors already own them.

I'm going to use the logic that they will not be legal. This also follows to 1st edition cards.
Sager is out to make more money, not produce a Highlander CCG utopia. How does he make money? He forces you to buy his 2ed cards as he probably makes more money that way over older/SAEC cards.
But I could be wrong.

I'm sure that they will not be legal. and of course it is partly because to make money. If Mike does not make enough profit off of the cards he can't print new sets. Period. Also, I want to point out these forums are not here for the prupose of bashing Mike. I'd like for these forums to be a fresh start for the game. You are certainly entitled to your opinions and can post them here, but just keep in mind that these forums are about the game not about Mike.

While making the game period is a way to make some money, making everyone buy into 2E makes sure that even new players are starting on even footing.
I have heard mention of having "flashback" tourneys where 1E cards are legal, so you will not *have* to buy into the new set.

There will definitely be tournaments where both old and new sets are allowed. The older sets will be FAQed to be give gems and otherwise made compatible.

Yeah, there are enough old school players out there that Mike almost HAS to have tourneys using 1ed cards. The thing is, if 2ed is good, people will buy them. People with OLD cards will buy NEW cards cause they love the game.
