Sorry, but I have been too busy for predictions. Also this week I knew what 3 of the 4 players were fielding, so that would have been a skewed result.
Overall though, we saw 4 completely different decks, with 8 completely unique personas.
Zombie Joe - Amanda/Kurgan
The German Kid - Mako/Felice
The Dude - Nefertiri/Kenny
Van the Man - Kyala/Methos
Round One - Zombie Joe vs. The German Kid... FIGHT!
A first turn Seduce, spear middle right attack caused him to burn through his Arms & Tactics Reshuffle right away. 4 points on turn one did not seem to be a good choice for him. The match as a whole was a slow run towards the end game. His saving grace was using a DI on my A&T Reshuffle and one attack. We went to 0 at the same time with my attack phase starting first.
0-1 no heads claimed
Round Two - Zombie Joe vs. The Dude... FIGHT!
This was a bit more of a one sided fight with Kenny not placing a Guardian first turn. He did managed to get out his combo cards of Master's Manipulation, Pharaoh's Daughter and Hunter Prone. Of course an attack heavy deck with War Horse and Rebeca in it limited the combo's effect.
With us getting done quickly, we tried a second game with him placing the Guardian at the beginning. Getting out Rebeca early and him with no toolbox in his deck gave us the same result.
1-1 no heads taken
Round Three - Zombie Joe vs. Van the Man... FIGHT!
Kyala did not seem happy with the Catwalk being put out into play. Master's Agility does nothing to a Seduced attack if you cannot play your dodge. The pair was finally brought to 0 with a Master's Head Shot claiming Methos' head and bringing him to 0 ability. A follow-up MHS the next turn took Kyala's head as well.
2-1 with 2 heads taken.
Final Standings
The German Kid... 3-0 with 1 head claimed
Zombie Joe... 2-1 with 2 heads claimed
The Dude... 1-2 no heads claimed
Van the Man... 0-3 no heads claimed
Special Note: I am seeing a higher caliber of deck from everyone lately. A lot more toolbox, and a lot of variety in decks. That is making deck building a lot more of a challenge lately. I am pretty excited to see what comes to GenCon.
