Predictions and reports to follow. Well, it is Monday after all.
Due to a dip in funds and a wish to tweak up our deck designs, we have been focusing on constructed play this month. I am hoping to talk the store into a Methos vs. Kalas event, but we will see.
As for predictions, this week will be a little easy as I am making two of the 4 decks.
The Dude - I expect to see Malick, although it may be Luther as I am sure there are a couple of tweaks he wants to make to that deck.
The German Kid - I am hoping we will not see Marcus again, but if we do I think I am ready for him. Without a disarm deck, I think we will see some direct damage. Possibly the Richie combo deck he has perfected over a couple of events.
Van the Man[ager] - Since I offered to give him a deck to play, I anticipate he will be playing one of my Rock Star decks. Should I decide I want to play the rock stars all personally, I may give him Duncan instead.
Zombie Joe - Well duh, one of the rock stars. You have a 1 in 5 chance of being right.
Son of Zombie - Although he likely will not be there this week, if he shows he will either be fielding an unused Rock Star (if Van the Man[ager] is running Duncan, or a Kurgan deck.
Results will follow tomorrow.

The Dude - He was in fact playing his Malick disarm deck. Gladius and Shield going all strength/toughness disarms.
Van the Man[ager] - Fielded my Annie Devlin deck for the Rock Stars of Highlander series. Someone had to, it was St. Patty's Day!
The German Kid - brought back his Mako non-special deck with a chafing buttload of locations. Something about all of the awesome locations there were in the new set. I only saw old ones personally.
Zombie Joe - Felice Martin was my immortal of choice this week. She was also the first official Rock Star deck I built. She was getting a bit of a new treatment.
Round One: Bad Reputation vs. Butter Fingers... FIGHT!
Although I had at least one extra weapon in my hand from opening draw, I managed to get out of the way of two disarm attempts. The setup went a bit slow, but well enough to get out the Masamune and Revenge of the Sword.
He ripped on the first Head Shot played with a Lunge hidden attack (adding the middle center grid), saving his head. The same attack coming the next turn took his head, and with it an Iman Fasil Quickening.
Zombie Joe... 1-0 with one head taken
Round Two: Bad Reputation vs. I Fought the Law... FIGHT!
This setup did not go nearly as well in my favor. Mako was able to set up quite a bit better than I was and neither Master's Deception managed to get him to discard Under the Color of Authority. Add him using a Divine Intervention on my Gathering Remove Plot, and the rest took its toll.
I managed to keep my head, but I could not recover from the plot. Losing any sort of control on tempo hurt me this game.
Zombie Joe... 1-1 one head taken
Round Three: Bad Reputation vs. Annie Devlin... FIGHT!
Sorry, no snappy name for the Annie Devlin deck yet.
In all of the match-ups that Annie could have faced, this was the one where she had the best chance. The decks were on pretty even footing.
At the end of it Van was able to protect against a pair of hidden head shots and was able to get me to exhaust before I landed a hit on him to win the game. I fell with him at 1 ability.
Zombie Joe... 1-2 one head taken
Rankings The German Kid: 3-0 no heads taken Zombie Joe: 1-2 one head taken The Dude: 1-2 no heads taken Van the Man[ager]: 1-2 no heads taken

I have to start by saying my premonition abilities rival our own Zombie's. I was telling Zombie Joe earlier that I was happy with the results I was getting in personal testing of the Malick, but I was fairly certain that I would lose my quickening before the end of the night.
Round 1 - Fate Happens! In a deck I helped Joe with, I couldn't find a defense for head. Two back to back Lunge Hidden Headshots finished the job.
Round 2 - vs. Irish Pride <-There's a name given the day and all Back and Forth thanks to a dojo. I win with no headshot. Final ability tally: 0-0 He went to 0 first.
Round 3 - vs. Mako 3 turns in Mako was without both weapons and struggling to decide which of his locations was better. In the meantime I pushing through attack after attack. Final tally: 6-0. At least I only lost my head once.

Personally, I love reading your guy's tourney reports. Kudos!!!! The question is this immortal daring enough to venture farther South to the Midwest Regional Championships the following weekend? Hmmmmmm?
