We still have a couple of months before the newest members of the clan can show up regularly, but I will start with the predictions I have for this week's constructed. The report will come the day after. PredictionsVan "The Man"First, I predict that he needs a cool nickname like the rest of the group. It may be common, but this is as good as it gets this week. Also as good as it gets this week will be the Malick Chainsaw deck I anticipate he will bring. Not to mention a few spare gas tanks. Josh "The Dude"He swears that plot chain really tied the deck together, man. His is a tough one. I think a Rameriez deck is not beyond him, although I think we will see more SfV in his deck. Since I gave him some adds for it though, I will stick with predicting the Rowdy Roddy Piper special. Thomas "The German Kid"Definitely thinking SfV since he picked up a full box of boosters. I will stick with the one he has been talking about most. Marcus Octavius. He has been collecting up all the cards he can for this immortal. Zombie JoePrediction here is a loose term. I mean, since I am making the deck, doesn't that make it more of a self-fulfilling prophesy? I am thinking about stepping away from the old school a bit, but I still don't think I have enough SfV to make it worth doing a full anime deck. Assuming I have the time during Heroes tonight, I want to try an immortal I have not used in a tournament yet this time around. Stay tuned until tomorrow, True Believers. I will return with the answers to the predictions (and how these predictions affected the decks that showed up) as well as the report for the event...

"The Dude" Here - Your prediction was going to be right and then I sat and tried to build the deck and found that I was short on key cards. So as I pawed thru the unsorted cards in my collection (over half of them) I decided to do something completely off the wall.
You'll have to see they'll all have to see what "The Dude" has in store for Zombie Joe

Update/Taunt/Smack Talk... New Deck Designed. It could very well righteously suck, but I will give it a go. That is, provided I remember to bring the decklist with me.

The more I think about it more I think the deck I built last night isn't viable. I hope I have a chance to build the original idea before tonight.

So my predictions were a little off. Van "The Man[ager]" stuck with his Rameriez deck. Mostly because he started a second job and had no time to make his Malick deck. Thomas "The German Kid" came with a Richie Ryan combo deck, adding in some of those new Search for Vengeance cards. Josh "The Dude" sported his Anthony Gallen mill deck, going for something new. Although he may have just been thwarting my predictions. Zombie Joe brought out the Xavier Hunter just for a "cheese" test. Round OneZombie Joe vs The German Kid -- FIGHT! While I managed a sniper in here and there, he was able to counter enough of my direct damage and slip in enough hits to bring be down before I could snipe him down. (Van "managed" to be The Dude and his Gallen deck.) Round TwoZombie Joe vs. The Dude -- FIGHT! This was not a pretty game. There was little to nothing to deal with direct damage in The Dude's Gallen deck. The Dude definitely did not abide. Gallen fell pretty quick to poison and lead. (Van lost to the Richie deck, although not by much.) Round ThreeZombie Joe vs. Van the Man[ager] -- FIGHT! I pulled the nuts draw on him. It involved getting out a massive amount of plots and a small puff of smoke from the grassy knoll. He did not have the time to build up his direct damage defense (which he had plenty of). Had the first turn not gone so well, it would have been a lot more difficult of a fight for Xavier. (The Dude lost a close match against the German Kid.) Final StandingsThe German Kid 3-0 with no heads taken Zombie Joe 2-1 with no heads taken Van the Man[ager] 1-2 with no heads taken The Dude 0-3 with no heads lost

I don't think my deck really qualified as a combo deck. It was mostly a straight multi-attack deck (2-3 attacks per turn thanks to the Rapier and Flashing Blades) with some cards to draw defenses from your opponents hand like Battlefield and Hunter - Discard Dodge and Block Events . Also the only SFV cards I included in the deck were the rare Toolbox cards and one Master's Reason. Here's how the matches went for me: 1st match vs. Xavier The last time I played with Richie against Joe's Xavier deck, I lost big time. This time is was a very close win for me. It would take me much longer to run him out defenses, because Xavier is an agile coward. But in the end, nobody messes with the Flashing Blades and the legend of the invincibility of cheese decks is finally refuted 2nd match vs. Ramirez As I did not have a large number of defenses in my deck, and most of my dodges were Richie's counters, I did not even try to defend myself against Ramirez slashes and would take one point of damage every turn. However, I was able to deal more than one point of damage per turn on average, thanks to Flashing Blades again. 3rd match vs. Anthony Gallen First things went pretty well, I would get a hit here and there from the 2-3 attacks I played every turn. Then Josh started his Search for Vengeance plot chain. The turn before he finished it I would deal 7 points of damage to him with Killer Precision and Shooting Blade. During his turn he would then throw 5 attacks and a Dirty Trick (Bloodied Nose) at me. I was only able to defend against two of them, which meant 9 points of damage for me in that turn. Fortunately, I managed to bring him down to zero the turn after that.

Actually I played Gallen to make your prediction correct. It was not my day. I was trying to do too much with Gallen "Piper".
1st Match vs. Ramirez - I lock turn it into a wrestling match in the ring right away. It pushed Ramirez almost twice through his endurance before he righted the ship. Otherwise, Piper laid down and took a nap after a ton of slashes.
2nd Match vs. Xavier - In case, Joe wasn't aware before "I hate playing against direct damage decks" Not even close Piper caught a some ricidule gas a took a nap, but Xavier couldn't see through the cloud to finish him.
3rd Match vs. Richie - The highlight of my night was finishing the fight for freedom plot chain and throwing a full 5 attacks and a dirty trick. Had the Bloody Nose succeeded I would have won that game. That is how close the end was.
