Hey everyone,
So after a long day of work and Disc Golf (wikipedia that), we throw together our weekly Highlander tournament. Kind of like the night cap. We are playing in a pack rat sealed format with swiss (like there'd be another way to run a tournament....). I crack open my starter and three packs. Nothing really special. I count up the dodges. I got a Master Block from Rameriez and a Master Dodge from Amanda. We throw everything together and we start it off.
Game 1:
Jeff
This game was a grind. He threw out Avery Hochkins early and started playing the exertion game. That was fun....not really. We go back and forth until one of my attacks sticks. We go into sudden death after time is called. We chip away at each other, but he hits zero before I do. I throws out a desperation attack...a lower left I think. I had the block in my hand for it and that was the game.
1-0 +1
Game 2:
Carlos
I thought he had this game. He hit me early with an improvised weapon, and with the Kurgan as his persona, I was hit for an extra. We trade blows for a while and eventually I get the parking lot out and throw out a disarm. I am playing Kastigir so I add one and hit the disarm check better than the Kurgan. He has to keep pitching but I keep throwing out attacks that he can't do anything about. He finally gets his weapon, but too little too late.
2-0 +2
Game 3:
Chris
He was throwing down with the YDK. We trade blows for a little while, but I get sick of it all and throw out a parking lot with a disarm. It works and he loses his weapon. He throws out a Gypsy Camp to replace the location, but it still takes him a few turns to get his weapon back. All those hard exertions really got to him and he ends up exhausting and eventually lands himself at 2. He attacks. I finish in a wonderful way:
Master Block (Rameriez), Slash (Connor), Head Shot.
Thook! And there goes his head. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE FAT MAN!!!
Thanks a lot to everyone who showed up. 6 people today, that's including Jeff who drove up from LA. Thanks Lex!
Cheers, Wilson.
