So last night we tried the "Pack Muskrat" draft... The idea is that each player brings a set of basic attacks, a set of basic blocks, and a head shot. Those 16 cards are added to whatever you draft from 4 boosters. If you do not draft a persona, you are a non-named immortal with 15 ability, and 5's in all gems. All other normal Pack Rat rules applied. Last night we drafted 2 boosters from Season One and 2 from Season Two. We had 3 personas between two players. Josh had a Richie, and I had a Martin Hyde and a Richie. Guess which one I used... So it boiled down to... Van (generic) -- he did have a Judgement Hilt and a Mako Master's Dodge. Thomas -- hunter prone... that is all that need be said. Josh -- Richie with 2 of Xavier's Posion Gas plots (part 1 and 2). Joe -- Hyde with a total of 8 Master Swordsman cards. The final match came down to a rematch between me and Josh. Final game he is at 1 ability and I am at 10 or 11. Last ditch effort he pops his Guillitine and throws an upper left head shot. The only grid I do not have covered -- and cannot pull from an exertion. He takes my head, wins the Quickening, and proceeds to do a little dance in the store. Sorry Josh, but I had to out you on the little dance you did -- best end to a Highlander event yet.

No worries, I got a little carried away when the last ditch somehow, someway worked out for me. I feel pretty good, whipping boy to winner in 2 months. Maybe should have followed through with the my softball mentality, "Act like you've been there before", but hey when you've built up in your head that, "oh yeah the attack will be dodged and then with 1 ability I will dead in the matter of another turn" to watching you curse me and your cards. It was an immediate rush of emotion.
That was awesome though, Josh

Like I said... best end to a Highlander event yet. Even tops Thomas taking the win his first time out. Well, that and the look on his face when I caught him with the hidden stab card.
