Our numbers increased, but we had a player with a schedule conflict. So four players last night. I am sorry if this event report does not make much sense in spots, but allergies are kicking my behind -- I can barely see straight.
Players Van - Xavier "Boof" Deck Thomas - Nefertiri Prone Deck Dan - Gallen Dirty Fighter Deck Joe - Yung Dol Kim Disarm Deck
The long and the short of it is that YDK took everyone's head once. Nefertiri harassed everyone with a series of hidden stabs, Xavier made the whole place smell like stale mustard gas, and Anthony Gallen was there to kick ass and chew bubble gum... but he still had a stick of gum left.
In short, 1st place YDK, 2nd, Nef, 3rd Xavier, 4th Gallen. Dan also started his collection of cards last night (new player), and we finally got our restock on Season 2.

That is a very nice way of describing my last minute call home. I was soooo looking forward to testing my pistol-packing Hyde deck.

I am well-practiced. Been married for almost 17 years now. And yeah, YDK would have had some problems with a pistol packing Hyde.

Well looking at the field I think my biggest problem would have been the Nef. maybe Xavier

Tough call. Nefertiri would have been tough any time you did not bust a cap in her, and Xavier would have been tough if he managed to get out his hilt.

Which Hilt the Broadsword or the Katana. I look at who is piloting the Xavier and say "bah no problem!"

Katana... works better with completing multiple Mustard Gas plots. And be nice... even if Van doesn't come to this forum...

Now, Now you know that I call him out when I am there too. Remember I was the first to coin the term the "Van Factor". It really is a good bunch of guys at the store where everyone knows that the call outs and trashtalk is fun and games.
No his persona helps him complete the plot chain. The single hand broadsword would allow him to be more aggressive.

You have not played him since he has figured out how to use the hilt for the katana. He does not typically complete the chain. It goes like this...
Turn X Play Mustard Gas, dealing 2 damage Play 1 point attack to some area
Turn Y Play a slash, use the hilt to sack Mustard Gas adding a point of damage to the slash Play Mustard Gas, dealing 2 damage
Turn Z Guess what he does...
Yes, the persona ability makes it so he can keep the Mustard Gas cards in hand, but the hilt is the key factor.

That's a nice replacement for the infinite Poison Gas chain that was nerfed when the Plot rules were changed. Well done.

That is brutal. So that match up with Hyde is a race to see who gets there cheese going first. Closer then I thought. However, it would fall prey to my Mako. Hmmm.... Pondering I hope to be at the next constructed and then find out for sure.
