The reason I say Pack Muskrat is that we tried something a little different.
1 starter and 3 boosters of Gathering.
Remove the persona and all fixed cards from the starter.
Draft the rest of the starter.
Draft the boosters.
Build a 50 card minimum (49 with the L&M) using only one of any non-reserved card from any immortal that is not your persona, ignoring the weapon of choice requirements unless you field a weapon of choice.
Checklists were counting as Master Swordsman cards.
Small group last night due to GAMA, so it was three people.
Joe (Kurgan)
Josh (Kurgan with two handed broadsword)
Tom (Iman Fasil)
It seemed that Fasil was having problems with all the big burly guys last night. It is probably more a display of the fact that Josh and I have been playing/drafting more than Tom, and the fact that the Master's Disarm never made it around to him in the draft.
Josh did well in his first game against me, kicking me to the ground at least once, forcing me to fight prone for longer than I would have liked. The second game though did not bring as good of an opening draw and I took him to the mats before revealing for the first time that night the first card drafted from my starter -- Master's Head Shot.
Let me just say that Master's Head Shot in limited format is incredibly evil.
Final Standings
Joe (Kurgan)
Josh (Kurgan with big sword)
Tom (Iman Fasil)
We should be back up around 5 players next week with our constructed event. I have vowed that next week I will build a deck around a Quickening and will play with it unprotected (no rip cards). We will see how good of headhunting decks they come up with.
