4 players tonight. We also tried out the swiss rounds to decide placement in single elimination bracket. Joe -- Amanda Wakizashi Deck Josh -- Ramierez Slash Deck Van -- Slan Brezerker Deck Nick -- Slan in the Opera House Deck Nick was not getting his combos off and took the final placement, but getting first pick of promo cards. Van took third place in a tight final game against Josh. It came down to who started their attack phase at 0 ability first. Josh could not seem to slash enough to make it through all those dodges. Especially after Amanda's "special thrust"... his words, not mine. Next week... standard constructed!

Actually that second game was ended with a healthy dose of the Van factor. He cycled himself with a Beserk and only turning up two lower attacks that I blocked with a lower power guard. Had he not tried the beserk, there could have been a very different ending.
No I couldn't slash enough but I kept it close until you seduced into the promo thrust. Which I did and still call the special thrust from Amanda.
