Has anyone ever been able to make a viable 1E Kern deck that actually uses his Persona Power?

The folks that run the board will need to move this to the 1e section. As to your question I have always been fasinated by Kerns ability but it was always hard to pull off. As of now I have seen plenty of decks that work but none that could win in a talented environment consistantly. I am very excited to see what the designe team comes up for him in 2e!

The best I came up with was Kern with the Rapier, Parrying Blade and senora Ariana. The Rapier gives you two attacks, Senora lefts you exert twice to use his power to get attacks and the Parrying blade has some non basic attack (surprise attack?) to help with the rapier's down side. Throw in the Bowie Knife and you're dropping many, many attacks. It's not top tier, but fun and surprisingly effective. I'd leave Kern's ability alone for 2E and add some cards that let him put attacks from his discard to the top of his deck.

If you are adding 2E cards, look at Wakizashi. Master of the Waki and Feint both have useful attack cycling abilities for Kern.

but kern also did powerblows with hog. Also calm before the storm put attacks on top. it just did not work well enouph to win in a good enviroment.

Kern can be a lot of fun to mess with your opponent, but Russe"L" is right, in a field of good players, it is hard to win a tourney unless of course you blind side them, but that will only be once in a blue moon, exspecially with the new alertness cards.
