We had a question come up last night during the tournament, and we couldnt find a resolution in the Handbook or the Addendum, so we had to allow it.
Cassandra - When during her turn can she use her ability? We all had assumed that it was usable only at the beginning of her turn (May Do/Must Do), however it was argued that since it wasnt stated, she could use it at any time, so long as she didnt play a special card.
Dallis and I agreed we would post it here and see what everyone thought. We all agreed that our absence from competitive play during the "heyday" of Cassandra is responsible for our lack of knowledge in this area.

If I recall correctly, you may use it during your May Do phase. The way I have always understood things was that any time the phrase "you may" do something, you chose whether or not to do so in your May Do phase. Just as, if "you must" appeared you had to do it in your Must Do phase. However, I haven't been part of the 1e scene in many years, things may have changed or I may be wrong.

ummyeah is right. If it says may or must, and doesn't modify another action (like Master's Advance) you do it at the start of your turn.

OK, a major "DUH" moment for us all last night. I had not even THOUGHT about the "may do/must do" part of the wording. We had some odd rules questions last night, mostly from the same guy (playing Ritchie, so go figure ;D ).

Cassandra-'Once during your reconcile phase you may discard up to 2 illusions from your hand. You may randomly discard an attack from your opponents hand for each illusion discarded this way. You may not play a special card the turn you use this power'. Same as Roland, except for attacks instead of defenses. Additionally her ELS WoC lets her fish for defenses.

I'll bring the cards tomorrow to the regional so anyone who doesn't have them yet can take a look.

Hmmmm, so Cassie can pitch opponents attacks and Roland basically got Cassie's ability from 1 ed? Interesting twist.

I don't remember her 1 E ability. I just recall the brutal beat down I gave her at the regional back in '99. Truly my finest Highlander moment. Now if I can just get the Q I am still owed from that event....

As it was a different company at that point and the horse appears to be quite dead, please send a PM do Dbaker and I will have him send you one out.

Beating the dead horse is all we got to keep us busy where I live. If I got the Q I wouldn't be able to keep griping about it. ;D
