Heya!
I dont know if anybody WANTS a 1ed only type tournament. Personally, the fact that so many 2ed cards ARE usable in 1ed makes 1ed even MORE viable as a game. Jeremy Squire made GREAT use of one or two 2ed cards in HIS deck, and the Grayson deck that showed up did pretty well. I think with some thinking, VERY GOOD Grayson, Zachary and Felice decks could be made for Type One tourneys.

I think with some thinking, VERY GOOD Grayson, Zachary and Felice decks could be made for Type One tourneys. While my Grayson did "ok" imo..... I would agree Jeremy shown just how well things can work out when your playing a 1e deck with a few splashed in 2e cards. My general thoughts tho on having a direct 1e vs 2e fight is that the 2e would be at a disadvantage simply due to having a lack of "tricks" when compared to their 1e brothers. (I'm speaking from experience playing BOTH my Grayson and Zach vs 1e decks) Of course with more expansions for 2e, the 2e decks may be able to catch up in the "trick" department. Either way, untill I can get my hands on enough 1e cards to make a viable deck, it looks like I'll be playing 2e mainly..... **Another thing I noticed at the tourny was in regards to Graysons "stalk". I played against an ally heavy ceridwyn (sp?) deck, but I'm not sure if the term "Immortal Ally" was used in 1e to get the effect from "stalk" to work. We ended up just looking at the name/picture of Ally to gather if they were mortal or immortal, lol! Hak

Immortal Ally wasn't used in 1e. That's what I thought since the term didnt ring a bell in my past 1e experience....... guess Stalk's effect just doesnt apply to 1e I guess. I also thought about seeing what kind of things I could come up with if I took the opposite approach to Jeremy's and played primarily a 2e deck like Grayson and splashed in 1e cards..... maybe I should do some experimenting! I don't know if the 2e personas have enough oomph for a 1e setting. Grayson with the Kris can put out a lot of unblockable and undodgeables, but while he's doing one point each everyone else is doing 5 with their seduced power blows. Zachary can be nice, but Connor in the Mountain Cave and Kinman with a Gladius can be as good with hidden attacks as him, and Gladius Stabs can be power blows while Fleche can't. Xavier with a 2e Poison Gas setup might be nice, but 1e Poison Gas kills a lot quicker.

You pretty much summed up my previous statement perfectly! I just used the term "tricks" instead of "oomph" but we are on the same page. Hak
