Heya! We got a good turn out tonight. Several of the old school players turned up, a good time was had by all. If there are any complaints, its that the starter decks were NOT well assembled. I believe we had 12 players (which means 12 starter decks) and not a SINGLE Amanda persona was pulled, and I dont think any Hughs were pulled either. In my group of 3 friends, we all got Duncan. Luckily, two of us ALSO pulled a secondary persona and played that, because we got BUPKIS for support cards for Duncan (and no support cards for the secondary persona either). Slan seemed to do the best tonight, I believe the top 3 finishers were Slan decks. In fact, they were all DIFFERENT Slan decks, having gotten slim pickings amoungst Slans persona specific cards. The card placement in boosters and starters was a big problem tonight, and did little to win over converts from the old school. The biggest complaint from old school players (which were the majority of players who came) were the Gem Deck Construction rules. Although this was Sealed Deck and those rules didnt apply, they were turned off by the prospect of being so restricted in thier deck construction. Most of the old schoolers have agreed to come back and play Type One tourneys in the near future. In the end, I believe MrAwkward won the tourney (I think), which kind of disappoints me because I BEAT him when I faced him tonight. Sure, it was a 1 point win, but a win is a win.

We actually had 14 players. A real good turnout. We will have another sealed deck tournament on Feb 2(in 2 fridays). Then we are planning a 1st edition tournament onfriday 2/23. I will be at Visioncon in Springfield feb 16-18(Tim and Brent will be also, I think). There will be 4 tournaments there. More details to come.

Yeah, I ended up with the W...You were my only loss Prowler...I had to claw my way back up from the loser's bracket...Many a game was decided by one ability...Hopefully I'll be able to make it out for some Type I tourneys...

Yeah, I ended up with the W...You were my only loss Prowler...I had to claw my way back up from the loser's bracket And claw you did, your win was quite impressive considering what decks you were up against. Using Berserk to win was great, you were quite lucky to get it first thing and hold on to it ALL GAME. You and your girlfriend were probably the toughest competition I faced all night. My wins over you two were by a single point, my loses were lopsided and evident from early in the matches. I was just glad to get the Xavier monkey off my back. ;D

Actually the top 3 were 2 Slans and a Grayson. Though the top 4 I believe were 3 Slans and a Grayson.

Actually the top 3 were 2 Slans and a Grayson. Though the top 4 I believe were 3 Slans and a Grayson. You are right. I believe the top 5 finishers were 3 Slans, 1 Grayson and 1 Xavier. Of all the Duncans that got pulled in the starters, only a couple were played and they didnt fare very well. Heck, my wife was 1-2 (she beat Brent) with her Duncan. She suffered from a lack of good cards and first time jitters. I certainly hope the card coalation gets fixed soon, I am NOT buying boxes of cards the way things are now. My budget is limited and I dont want to end up with a girth of 2 personas and have to trade for cards I SHOULD have had if the coalation had been fixed.

Heya!
Mrawkward, one of the bills you used at A-Z this weekend was a "Wheres George?". We just entered it into the database and it is being passed on again. It was funny, cause it took us a while to figure out WHERE we got the bill, then remembered you were from Baldwin City.
