Per the Design team: If you play a guard with the Katana Guard, the other guard's text is null and void. The Katana Guard's text over-rides the guard it is played in conjunction with. For example, if you play Kastagir's Master Guard with the Katana Guard, you would have to drop the Guard in order to attack to those areas protected by the guard since the text on the Kastagir's Master Guard is now null and void. But that would only apply if you're using the 1ed Katana WOC, right? Since the 2ed Katana does allow the persona wielding it to attack to areas they just blocked. So if Kastigir's Master's Guard's text is null and voided by the Katana Guard, wouldn't the 2ed Katana WOC still let him attack?

No. You can't attack through a guard even you are allowed to attack to areas just blocked. Duncan and Connor from 1Ed could not attack through a guard. You have to drop the guard in order attack to those areas.

You can attack through a Guard if you can attack through areas you just blocked, however, if you attack through a Guard (other than Kastagir's, which states differently; or with Master of the Katana) you must drop the Guard.

Thanks, I just remembered that rule soon after I stated that...I had forgotten that after a time, the made the attack restriction part of the Guard rule and thus no longer having to be printed on the card itself. Thank you both for your clarification!
