Hi, i saw in erata you intermix saber card from the 2e with 1e. Can we do the same with katana? Can we play katana WOC 1e with cards of the 1e and 2e? If it works for saber it could be the same for katana, but i prefer ask.
Thanks

Let me guess... 1 pt of damage is not enough?

Well, if you are playing 1E Duncan, then you don't need the benefit of the 2E katana. But, you might want the support cards....
My understanding is that you can mix the 2.

Yes, in the TYPE ONE format you may use either version of the Katana pre-game. Thorr's explination was very valid except for the problem of Master's Advantage now hitting the table. So in point, if you play Duncan with the 2ed Katana you need not fear Ramirez. Also, the support cards for the Katana are interchangeable, unless they are bugged. Headswillroll

How about the 1e Lightning Strike Edge card? How does it work with the 2e Katana since with that version of it you do not declare if you are using it one handed or two handed, like you do with the 1e Katana? Or will the 1e Lightning Strike Edge be treated as though it has one Hand Icon?

Since the 2ed Katana is a One Handed Weapon only, the Lightning Strike would only work in the One Handed Capacity.

Or will the 1e Lightning Strike Edge be treated as though it has one Hand Icon? Here is one of those cards that puts you into a position that you must choose. The only way to play the Lightning Strike edges from 1ed is to play the 1ed Katana, since as Prowler pointed out, the 2ed version is a one handed weapon. If there is news of a hand icon being added to the card in the future, I will post it in this forum. Headswillroll

Lightning Strike Edge If you are using the Katana as a two-handed weapon, you may play this card in conjunction with a Slash. If the previous attack you played this turn was Slash, then this attack cannot be blocked. You may play an additional attack this turn. You may play only one Lightning Strike with Slash.
Ruling: If you are using the 2nd Ed Katana in a 1st Ed Deck, you would need an additional Hand icon in play from the Katana, to play this card.
Examples are: Katana Guards, Katana Lightning Strike or Katana Two-Handed Stance.

What if I ran Wakazashi or Parrying Blade? They have an additional hand icon on them. What about Connor's Improvised Weapon? Or is it limited to Katana cards that have additional hand icons?

If you are using the off-hand weapons, then you aren't using the Katana with both hands now are you?
I believe Tim meant to say that you need 2 Katana hand icons in play.

That's what I thought...........I hope he clears it up. I don't want to try and hurt my brain by finding a way to abuse hand icons.
