I have to say that was one of the absolute worst movies I have ever seen. I can't even believe sci fi decided to air that. I'm so stunned by the absolute failure that I really can't get into how bad it was. Even my wife, who likes even the worst of the tv show episodes, gives this a thumbs down. Christ that was BAD. Between that and the endless wait for Ramirez edition, I'm just one confused and angry highlander fan right now.

Yeah...I posted in another thread that as much as I wanted to like this movie....I couldn't and didn't. I got my wife into Highlander, and she stopped watching by the 2nd commercial break and said it is a good thing that this wasn't the first time she'd seen anything Highlander, or she would think I was crazy for watching... This didn't even feel like a Highlander movie...looks like I'll stay with the Connor movies (including Endgame) & series for a while.
Edited for spelling.

I tried so hard to like this movie.
I read the plot online, thought it was good (wasn't sure how I felt about the ending, but I was open minded), saw the trailers and thought it had some potential. With the exception of Adrian Paul as Duncan, Jim Byrnes as Joe Dawson, and Peter Wingfield as Methos, this movie was horrible for me.
Sword fights - not good. Acting - not good (aside from the three above and Thekla Reuten). The plot - BLEGH. The villian - I liked him except every time he spoke.
Overall very disappointing, expect a full review on my website within a few days.
And for the record, my movie, with a budget FAR less than this movie, will be better. I gurantee it.

Okay so I had seen the Source (Russian version) before hand. Not bad. But as I stated a good movie if you are not a HL fan. After seeing last nights travesty, I still like it. Is that bad? Well maybe. I like to think of myself as a die hard HL fan, so I would have to be to have enjoyed what I saw last night. It defiantly has a different direction than the other films. So here are some fun facts (correct me if I am wrong) 1) Adrian Paul is the Ex producer of the film. 2) Clancy Brown was to have a role but declined at the last minute. 3) Peter Wingfield will not return for another installment. 4) The Euro version had an ending much more open then Sci-fi channel. I think the direction they are going is to revamp the franchise. Maybe with a new start and some new characters. Its really hard to say, there have been many disappointments of late concerning the franchise, games and coupled with the loss of one of the producers there may be a change coming after all. It might be cool it might not be. Even still there is the original movies to fall back on.

This too was a trilogy from what I heard... they were all being filmed simultaneously, according to Adrian Paul's website... the reason there was a delay in the release was because they couldnt find a film distributor that would do a 3 movie deal. Now we all know why...but will the other two ever even air?

Sci Fi will show just about anything. Heck just before the source I watched part of bloodrayne, which left me thinking boy was that a better game then a movie. The source was as I like to call it, Sci Fi-tastic. I have seen movies so much worse then this on sci-fi that I can't even begin to tell you how low those guys will go.

They do show some ugly, corny movies on Sci-Fi. They do surprise us from time to time.

This too was a trilogy from what I heard... they were all being filmed simultaneously, according to Adrian Paul's website... the reason there was a delay in the release was because they couldnt find a film distributor that would do a 3 movie deal. Now we all know why...but will the other two ever even air? -Gabe- It's been explained at the Highlander Boards by people like Peter Briggs (who, although his draft was not used, did see the shooting draft for The Source) that what was seen is all that was filmed. No extra scenes that haven't already appeared in the Russian or Dutch cuts, no "Scottish Highland" scene with an aged Duncan training his son (with Methos looking on from afar), et cetera. They ran out of money before everything was filmed. So, no extras on the cutting room floor like for HL2 or Endgame. A second and third part was not filmed. Adrian has already stated in his most recent sci-fi interview in the past couple of days that with Bill Panzer (the creative) gone, the future of what Peter Davis (the financer) wants to do with Highlander is up in the air. In other words, there were no sequels filmed along with The Source, and probably won't be. Word at the boards from one of their Mods is that Davis is currently looking into a remake of Highlander 1. We take that as nothing more than a rumor right now, but Panzer did state last year or so that either a prequel to the original, or a remake/updating, was on their plate. Funny, because Adrian also made a brief mention of a remake being a possibility in his interview.

Yes, it is going to be released on DVD, but there is no date yet. On the official site for The Source there is a trailer for the DVD release.....and the trailer makes the movie look better than it was...
On a side note, I wasn't there but I read on the official HL message board that this past weekend there was the official HL convention in Vancouver. At that convention, they basically apologized for The Source. Sounds like they only brought in David Abramowitz so Adrial Paul would sign on, then they didn't use Abramowitz's script. They wet back to an earlier script and the studio wanted the movie to be more of a "slashed" flick to attract a younger audience...
I'll see what else I can find out and let you all know, if you're interested...
