Okay folks, anyone who's been collecting Highlander TCG from the beginning has likely seen some interesting First Edition "quality control" issues over the years, but I think I've just found the weirdest packing "error" I've ever seen. Over the last 25 years I've previously seen the following printing/assortment problems from Thunder Castle:
* A box of Gathering boosters where the individual plys of the cardstock of all the rares peeled apart like a tissue.
* A box of Arms & Tactics starters with no uncommons. The uncommon slots were filled with additional rares.
* A "Darius" pregame Promo with a blank white back.
* I've also heard tale (but never gotten one myself) of "god" boxes of Movie Edition, which were nothing but rares.
Never before had I gotten cards from an altogether different set than what was supposed to be in a product, but last week I cracked 3 boxes of Gathering starters for the sake nostalgia and alleviating months of work-from-home boredom. What I found was interesting, to say the least. About half the decks were missing most or all of their Commons. In their place were a random mix of Duncan and Methos collection cards. Altogether, I got roughly 4-5 each of the Duncan and Methos sets (including the Duncan MCBC/Quickening misprints; oddly no Duncan Personas though.) Decks with this assortment also had no Premiums as those tend to show up between the "clumps" of Common and Basic cards. The other half of the decks had a collation more akin to booster packs, with Commons, Uncommons, and Rares in alternating patterns in the decks. These did contain Premiums in about a normal pull rate.
Anyone else encounter any of these manufacturing/assortment anomalies, or any that I haven't brought up?
