Not sure if there is a rules team/person out there anymore...
This is from the errata;
Restricting Hard Exertions – Any effect that says a player may not make a Hard Exertion ONLY affects that player making a Hard Exertion for a Power Blow or Power Block, they may still make Hard Exertions for other reasons, regardless of wording on the card
So Malick and Silas cards became useless?
Your opponent cannot make a Hard Exertion during their next turn unless you make a Hard Exertion during this turn.
Your opponent cannot make an Exertion during their Defense Phase next turn.
If this indeed is true, why not just make these cards Sig? Then at least only them and flip flop jesus can use their cards.

Some enterprising deck builders figured out a way to lock down their opponent with those cards. The errata was needed to ensure you could Exert to defend yourself.

You can still reduce their exertion size to 0, so still plenty of ways to mess with people.

yes, but instead of just making those cards sig so those two immortals are playable in a tourney they are basically now not competitive unless played as stall which we all know how certain groups feel about that.

I felt like there should have been other ways to resolve the abuse, but I appreciate not being denied the ability to exert for a defense. Maybe an alteration of the rule. Like: If a player is ever denied the ability to make an exertion, they are still permitted to exert for a defense during their turn. Doesn't stop them from denying your ability to attack, but I feel like it would at least open up those other cards again.

What an over-reactive errata. Rule should never be changed when individual cards can be. For every card that is a part of a broken combo, there are several that are part of healthy combinations. Changing core rules that have driven the game is reckless. Errata sucks, but it is far better than core rule changes.
I don’t agree with all the rule decisions that have been made, but held my voice. Core changes like this though, I cannot get behind.

I am completely serious : This is why it's good im not in charge anymore
One person should not be in charge alone. This is why going forward I have supported rules being a group effort.
I made mistakes, but at no point did i make a ruling to help someone or deck design
