Plot/Hilt is a broken format that is for sure.
As for rules, if I could institute anything I wanted it would be a chess clock where each player gets a certain amount of time and when that player runs out they enter end game. I have always gotten frustrated because I lose more to end game caused by my opponents then I ever did to their decks. it always seems as an unfair advantage especially when they almost always conveniently had the end game cushion cards (which even in my large collection I dont have.) Basically you should not be punished because your opponent plays slow.

I don't think wholesale changes are needed to address this. As prowler suggested having her persona power target non edge cards would work, or tweak her plot to 'the first card discarded is not random', maybe something like that. Not both, but I think the tweak to her power would be less offensive. On a serious note, where the hell did HEEL SANTA come from?? Dude, crack kills. Next month change it to Heel Valentines cherub, or something topical. Or Heel President. Oh wait......

I think we have to start by deciding (as a community) how the game play should look and feel like, when you sit down to play a game. Do we want it to be a balanced game that is won primarily by player skill and deck design... or do we want it be to be strictly a competitive environment where a few powerful cards can win the game and it solely relies on luck, to determine if you draw those cards into your hand?
Because right now, it feels like the latter. Only a few of us make a concerted effort to play different personas with different strategy each time. Otherwise, it's usually the same personas and the same WOC that end up being played by the top players in the tournaments.
