I think the MacLeod Pregame adds +1 to a MacLeod Master gem.
A sword that adds +1, probably not. But I could see a Wisdom of the Ancients that did that

He Steve prowler7 , I understand your concern about the weapon but consider this... Yung Dol is one of the last 4 immortals left in the game. He only has 5 master gems. He actually has decent cards but cannot even use all 4 of his Master Attacks and his 2 Head Shots. I realize there are other immortals who have multiple Master cards that they cannot play them all but Kim should be able to play 6. The problem with having a Wisdom of the Ancients is it will take away another slot keeping weaker immortals weak. If you had a weapon, eg. Long Sword that worked opposite of Marcus Octavius ability, decrease any ability to add (1) to the master gem not going below (2) gems, it would help some of the weaker immortals be more competitive now that there are generic PLAYABLE master cards, eg, Master's Block. Just my 2 cents. clique84 kurganfan thoughts???

If you're talking about the lore and mythos of the series, remember that YDK, although one of the last 4, did all he could to avoid the others of his kind. He even has a card titled 'Tired of the Game'. Having to choose which of his Master cards to include and which to exclude is part of his dilemma. As far as playing the card game, weaker characters need to find a way to win, good players will do that. As example, I never thought Faith had the support cards to be really top tier, Bill proved me wrong. He had an awesome deck at Indy that ran into 2 bad matchups. I always knew Slan the Man was great, I played a basic meat and potatoes Slan deck my first tournament and got second in a field of nearly 10. Gabe had a terrific Indy deck and I have to admit lex had a sweet version last event. In short (after my 2 paragraph rant ), I disagree that a Master gem adding/altering WoC would be a good idea. We've seen what damage a promo WoC with a wicked ability can do to balance. Unless it's a general mass distribution to ALL players to keep the playing field somewhat level, I'd discourage it. Not trying to have explosive diarrhea all over your idea , but it probably should remain a good idea that went nowhere. Just my 2 cents, and sorry if anyone feels overcharged. Regards GC

nope. thanks for the input. @krganfan I just wanted to be able to make LESS playable immortals playable. I do understand the possible unbalancing of other immortals.

The solution to the problem is a card that ONLY affects Immortal's with 5 or less Master gems. That way it only boosts the ones who need it.
The problem is thematically there is a REASON those guys have so few Master cards. These are guys who aren't too bright, were too young, or never sought other Masters to learn from.

I've been thinking about this all morning. The amount of text needed on the card to make sure it's not broken will not fit on a single card.
This ability can't be given to 5 Master immortal's because they already have Darius. There are only a couple 4 or less Master personas, it's not worth the trouble. They can use Darius like everybody else.
Sorry
