Just saw this today: www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/7/29/star-wars-destiny/Looks interesting. I'll definitely be demoing this at gencon. According to the article, if you demo the game you get a full art promo. If anyone attending gencon demos the game and does not want the promo card, I will trade 2 Q's (or pregame premiums, or one of each) for them. See everyone in 6 days!!

So FFG has a Star Wars Living Card Game, an unpainted personality minis game, a small ship battle game, a big ship game, a pen and paper RPG, none of which are compatible I think, and now a dice game. At least they aren't overdoing it. I would imagine the Star Wars license ain't cheap, and FFG wants to uh, maximize the IP. The thing that most folks appear to be excited about is the fact that this game covers the prequels through Force Awakens. I'll give it a look at gencon.

And should they lose the license they will have lots of dead product. The name Decipher echoes thru my noggin. Wizards of the Coast also. It looks like a ripoff of Dicemasters, but if I have time I will demo also. The promo might be worth something. I wonder if you demo you get a choice or if you buy a starter you get both? Guess we'll find out in a couple days....

If anyone going to GenCon can grab me a copy of the promos for this game, I'd appreciate it! I can send back some Highlander cards or maybe cards from another game.
I've been enjoying playing non-collectible games for a while now (and my wallet had enjoyed it, too), but I'm going to give this one a shot.

Tried the WotC game, but didn't play/collect past the second expansion. I read the images on the dice are printed into the die itself and not a sticker, so I'm glad there will be no worries of any stickers peeling off. I do hope they package it better than Dicemasters, though. From what I've seen, the cards get very "bendy" in that packaging.

The dice look, from the website, to be high quality but the individual boosters look like they are more rigid (and likely more expensive) than their Dicemasters counterparts. Yeah I have a 5k count box of Decipher, including some of those cool Destroyer Droids from R3 and Courasant (sic) expansions, and a bunch of WotC because it was cheap. I tried the 'virtual' Star Wars expansions but who really wants to cut out and paste those images. If they are selling starters and tossing in a promo with purchase that would be nice. I might buy a couple, but if the promo is only available with a demo and they stamp your badge or something might only get one.

Anyone try out the demo at GenCon? What did you think? I'm reading some good things about it on FFG's message boards, but they may be a little biased...

I never found the time to demo. The dice were really oversized from standard dice but looked to be good quality. I'm a bit Star Wars'd out or I'd be more excited about it.

I demo'd it twice, getting both the Kylo Ren and Rey promo's. I waited in line for about 1hr 45 minutes combined and sold them on ebay for $35 (combined)... not bad for cards I got for free. The game seems clumsy and awkward. To be honest, it looks like a lame attempt to copy the feel of Highlander. Two character's squaring off, with supporting characters and weapons... it is not a direct ripoff, but as a true highlander fan, I could tell that they are trying to scoop up our old player base who enjoys a good duel.
