Rules: Back To Basics - Maximum deck size of 75 cards; Minimum deck size of 44 cards. The ONLY Pre Games allowed are a Persona, Weapon of choice(and a off hand weapon per the rules) and a Watcher/Hunter if desired. No rips, Q’s, A&T’s, Gathering’s etc…
So, yes.

dbaker previously stated.. NO. Thanks for this update. I have a comment on the Darius Cards. Would that not put Darius at an advantage. Being able to add an additional Master Card, Re-shuffle 3 Master Cards, Increase the Restriction # on 1 card and have all his allowance cards under the pre-game be too much? If everyone else is using a Persona, a WOC and a watcher but Darius has all his other support cards in his Pre-Game why would you play any one but Darius? Just my thoughts on this. Yeah, I know it is late to rock the boat, but hang on.

dbaker You are 100% correct. I agree that Darius should probably be banned but it is only days before the tourney so I really hate to ban him? Anybody object to Darius being banned?? Or everyone can just start with Justina Bello in play that can't be removed...

Anybody else, please weigh in. For all practical purposes let's say he is banned for now.

*Addendum*
The Gathering 2015; Indianapolis
Who: The remaining few immortals. To enter, register with Jeff (Burt Macklin; aka Lex) online or at the convention.
What: An informal tournament that occurs over Gencon weekend 2015. The tournament gives players a chance to play in an open, Back-to-Basics format, multi day event, with no ejection criteria (i.e. losing by head shot does not eject you from the tournament). A player may play as much or as little as they want. The player’s Gencon badges are marked with a ‘skull and cross bones sticker’ to indicate that they are part of the tournament. A list of players enrolled in the tournament will be provided prior to the start of the tournament for additional recognition.
Rules: Back To Basics - Maximum deck size of 75 cards; Minimum deck size of 44 cards. The ONLY Pre Games allowed are a Persona(Darius is banned), Weapon of choice(and a off hand weapon per the rules) and a Watcher/Hunter if desired. No rips, Q’s, A&T’s, Gathering’s etc…
When: The tournament will commence on Thursday, July 30th @ 8AM and ends on Saturday, August 1st 11:59PM 2015. Please meet at the Highlander area (TBD) to pick up special cards only playable at The Gathering 2015 between 8:00AM-9:00AM Thursday.
Where: A player may challenge another player anywhere in the Indianapolis Convention Centre. The challenged player may accept or decline the challenge. (Although catching your foe off holy ground while unarmed is encouraged please be courteous. You may not challenge another player if they are already in another dual or playing in another tournament). Duals may only last 30 minutes according to standard rules. Players must keep time themselves. After 30 minutes of regulation play if a winner has not yet been declared, End Game ensues per the rules. Challenge accepted: Players begin play immediately. Once the dual has finished, fill out the score sheet according to scoring below. Scoring: • Head Shot in regulation; winner = 4 points: loser = 0 points • Win (no Head Shot) in regulation; winner=2 points: loser = 0 points • Head Shot in End Game; winner= 3 points: loser = 1 point • Win (no head shot) in End Game; winner= 2 points: loser = 1 point • Similar to hockey (NHL) if you make it to End Game you are guaranteed (1) point. It is how many points the winner can manage in End Game that is coveted. Challenge refused: • The refusing player MAY give the player who initiated the challenge a Holy Ground 2015 promo, and skip the scoring below (the opponent who refuses the dual must sign, date and timestamp the Holy Ground). They may not be challenged again, by anyone, for one hour. BOTH players score 0 points. If a player refuses the challenge and does not choose to use a Holy Ground or have any to give, the challenged player receives 0 points and the challenging player receives 1 point.
Each player is given a scoring sheet to track: • Who they've played; • Time of the dual and if a holy ground was used the time it was played to determine a player not having to accept another challenge for 1 hour. • The results. • The score.
Each player then signs the other’s score sheet. The winner is determined based on the best score over the weekend.

I wasn't saying to ban Darius, but to limit him to just the persona, WOC and a Watcher/Hunter pre-game like everyone else. But him being banned, I really have no objection to.

I will ruin Darius (and whatever Bill may be playing) with my deck in this format so I didn't care but he is significantly overpowered for this format in general.

I love this idea!!! Good job, I was thinking of something similar for our local leagues, on a monthly basis and have a monthly champion locally... My gears are turning.

***UPDATE***
I will hand out the promo cards and get people signed up prior to the Lean and Mean tournament Thursday morning around 9:30am at the Highlander area unless I see you before that. I will NOT be at the area until closer to 9:30 AM not the original 8-9 am. Sorry for any inconvenience.
