This may be a tall order, but I'm looking for an Iman Fasil 1E deck design I found on the web 15+ years ago. I'm pretty sure I found it on a "SwordMasher's Haven" or "SwordMaster's Haven". Something like that. I know that it relied on having a bunch of copies of "Twist of Fate" which I didn't have enough of to pull off at the time, but I still patterned my deck off it as much as possible, and it did pretty well until Duncan Machine/Kronos devastated the tournament scene. It seems like it was fairly lean like around 60 cards or so, but every time I try to build it on my own it ends up around 90 cards. Anybody know the deck I'm talking about or got any better ideas for 1E Fasil decks?

There's a 1E lean and mean fasil deck list on watcherdatabase ( www.watcherdatabase.tk/Decks/View/40.html ), and there's an old steve crow strategy article about fasil (http://www.watcherdatabase.tk/Articles/4.html), but I can't find the deck list you're talking about -- if you find it, feel free to send the me a copy of the deck list and I'll add it to the site.

I got this one. I know I had it on my site back in the day (HLWatcher1) and saw it copied elsewhere. Locals wouldn't play against it anymore. Buzzsawed through an Origins qualifier in the late 90's (maybe 2000-ish?) and like a dummy used Methos in the championship and lost to a Kronos first blood cheese deck.
Pre-Game: Iman Fasil Iman Fasil +1 A&T Break Glass PG Darius (Backflip) **Last 2 spots are dealers choice honestly. I usually just go with strat Q (which I rarely use. this deck has no problems keeping needed cards in hand) and Ren Q (it's just fun to take other peoples personas).** 6 Crystals
Attacks: 5 UL 1 UC 1 UR 1 ML 1 Thrust
Blocks: 1 UR 1 UC 1 UL 1 LL
Dodges: 5 Backflip (PG Darius) 1 Right Side Step
Edges: 2 Alertness (Dodge, Older Style) 2 Recon 4 Focus (Ignore Sit) 6 Lunge
Events: 5 Master Head Shot 2 Twist of Fate 1 DI 1 Police 1 Misfortune
Situations: 2 Honor Bound (No Specials) 1 Watcher (Fair Fight)
Locations: 2 Ruins 2 Dead End Alley
Strategy: Backflip, Upper Attack, Lunge, Master Head Shot, repeat until dead. I used to have some Advance Warnings in there but 90% of the time you're gonna have all four cards in your hand anyway. Alertness, Recon, and Focus are obvious. Same goes for DI, Police, Misfortune, and the Watcher. In the rare case you don't have the combo in hand drop a Twist of Fate. The locations are really only in there to take out an opponent's location. The Honor Bounds are there to deal with opponents that don't want to attack; and since we're using Master Head Shots they can be played regardless. I kind of retired it after that Origins because the only real way to beat it (at least then) is to wait it out and hope I burn all my ability reshuffling. It's a simple deck to play and neither player really feels good about the game afterwards. Great if you're into watching people flip tables.

OOOOh some strategy!! (Even if it is resurrecting a post that is years old ) Fasil was always good for taking heads if he was attacked. Maybe put in a couple of Appels just in case you have a reluctant attacker. You would have to include a Watcher PG card to include the fair fight Thanks for posting N

Haha. I had to jump at the chance. One of the few decks I found in my storage that was still intact. If you're talking about the old promo Appel it can't be played with any other edge cards so I couldn't go Head Shot, Appel, Lunge; If that was the case I'd be using them. If someone's not going to attack I'd rather just throw out a dead end alley and honor bound and start throwing Head Shot, Lunge and hope they don't have a bunch of upper blocks. It's a thought to put in but if there's one thing I figured out about this kind of Fasil deck it's keep it at 50 cards. Every time I tried to add another layer it just bogged it down. Didn't know about the Watcher thing; either that came later or we were all cheating back then . It was a series edition card and if I'm remembering correctly Watcher PG's didn't come out until WC expansion. Either way just swap it with an extra weapon or whatever other disarm deck defense card.

There is a very similar build you can do with Connor, except it uses his Master's Block, upper attack, head shot, and lunge. The big difference being that Connor's Master's Block is restricted to 2 and you can up that with Darius to 3. Both are ugly when they work and opponents hate them. Connor's deck is a little less likely to hit all the cards in the initial draw and may take an extra turn or two to get all of them.
