Hi all
I am the new necromancer so I am resurrecting the persona profiles. A little bit of strategy a bit of deck building and comments on some new cards. My biggest hope is that this will generate SOME STRATEGY TALK!!!
OK lets get started with the first of the persona profiles KAMIR
5 21 18 9 12 15
persona power You may nullify any Discard effects targeting you that your opponent controls.
Meh not the greatest power in the world - useful against a very small number of immortals/deck design.
persona specifics
Counter dodge CVKO46
xxo or oxx
xxo or oxx
xxo or oxx
Choose one grid. Your next attack this turn may be hidden
Quite nice - useful in circle and hidden attacks always good
Kali's instrument Object S2 CVKO47
You may only play or put this card into play if you are using the Bo WoC. If your opponent is prone or considered prone, they may not draw cards prior to their Defense Phase
Not great - drawing before the defense phase *shrug* and got to use Bo WoC ho hum
Master's Collection Edge 3 CVKO48
You may only include this card in your deck if you are using the Kamir persona. Play in conjunction with a situation, object or location. You may put into play one situation, Object or location from your Discard.
WOW when is a signature card not a signature card? Even Darius can't use this one! How great is this!!! 2x specials in a turn and one of those from your discard. Great with cards that you discard to use. discard 'em then get 'em back. whoa every Kamir deck will have 3 of these babies.
Silken Cord Object S2 CVKO49
If your opponent successfully defended your final attack last turn , choose one:- your first attack is hidden or your first attack is undodgeable.
On first glance another Okish card but when you really think about it this card is an absolute beast ...a must for every Kamir deck. The hidden attack is a bit meh but an UNDODGEABLE attack whoo hoo (more on this later)
Strangle attack 2 damage CVKO50
oXo
ooo
ooo
This attack cannot be a power blow. You may play this attack even if disarmed or unarmed. If successful your opponent cannot draw cards for the remainder of their turn.
Not bad. In a deck designed to limit the drawing ability of your opponent it has distinct possibilities
Trip Event 4 CVKO51
Remove all standing defenses your opponent has in play. Your opponent is considered prone while this card is in play.
Gets rid of any nasty guards and your opponent considered prone ..not bad
Wrath of Kali plot S2 CVKO 52
Your opponent cannot play defenses that are "as if from an exertion"
Maybe I am missing something here but I can't see this getting much gameplay from me.
Zealot Sit R2 CVKO53
Trigger:- If you took damage or ability loss last turn, you may discard this card to remove one situation, plot, object illusion or Location from play.
Again another card that will not see much gametime. Too many conditions. I have to take damage or ability loss and it is a discard to use card ..nah not for me
OK there you have it ...now lets build a deck.
All of my decks will have certain things in common.
1. They will all have a theme
2. They will never be over 60 cards ...nearer to 50 the better.
3. If there is a Quickening involved it is not an integral part to the deck and the deck will function without it.
4. Concentration will always be in my toolbox. Why? Because it is the best toolbox card in the game..... I like playing specials and the only games that I lose horribly is when I convince myself that it isn't necessary to include it
Kamir - Silken Quickenings.
Initial Thoughts
OK Looking at Kamir as a whole ...one card stands out above all others and that is Silken Cord. I normally don't like cards that are dependent upon your opponent doing something but in this case you can make him do what you want him to do and defend your final attack and then the next attack is undodgeable.
How do you make him defend an attack ...well you make it a head shot of course. This deck is designed with headshots in mind..lots and lots of them. Every turn if possible you will be throwing an undodgeable headshot. Add that to an Appel and you have an unblockable from hand, undogeable head shot most turns ... whoo hoo sounds good.
So what do we have
pre game
Kamir
Kamir +1
English Longsword
Gathering get object
Sean Burns Q (works well with condemned building)
Gathering get loc
6 Crystals
Attacks
1 x UCA promo
6 x ULA 6 x hs2 -008
2 x URA 2 x Hs3-003
Blocks
1 x ULB HFSV-01
1 x UCB HS2-013
1 x URB 4H-012
1x LLB HS£-013
1x LCB HS!-014
1x LRB HM£-013
Dodges
6 x Evade (generic ) 6x HS3-036
Toolbox
1 x Always the last place you look/misfortune 4H-036
1 x focus/police 4H-063
1 x Foiled/Investigation 4H-067
4 x concentration 4 x HM3-034
Kamir specifics
2 x Silken Cord 2 x CVK049
2 x Bo Staff 2 x HS4-086 (in case disarmed)
3 x master's collection 3 x 3 x CVK048
2 x Trip 2 x CVOK51 (just in case there are guards)
English Longsword
6 x Appel 6 x HS2-201
Generics
4 x Head shot 4 x 4H-018
1 x Head shot AVCO49
1 x head shot sit HVMO47
2 x super alertness dodge 2 x hsfv - 059
4 x condemned building 4 x HM3-035
2 x Master Head shot 4 x HSFV -123
total = 57
= 5 18 18 4 5 14
Not sure if it is a bit podgy at 57 if you think it is remove the 2 x MHS and possibly the 2 x trips.
Strategy
1. Get Silken Cord out with Gathering turn 1
2. Get Condemned Building into play turn 1
3. Keep Silken Cord and Building in play with master's collection
4. Every turn make an upper attack + appel + Head shot. This should be undodgeable due to silken cord as the previous attack was a head shot and only blockable by exertion due to appel.
5. The condemned building reduces the exertion by one and with the Sean Burns Q you can move the possible saving block to the 5th card making it unusuable.
Overall
Kamir is probably stronger than he looks at first glance. I don't think he is top tier but probably a good middle tier. His power is very average but this is more than made up for with 2 excellent cards in Silken Cord and master's collection.
Overall I will give him a 7.5
Hope you enjoyed the review
