Iman Fasil's conflicting histories

Does anyone know the source for Iman Fasil's persona flavor text? His 1st Edition text mentions his year of birth in northern Italy, but his 2nd Edition persona (while not necessarily contradictory) tells a truncated version of the same history, but seems to incorporate elements from this history members.shaw.ca/sylviavolk/fasil.htm (which is listed as a fanfiction with no sources cited and also states Fasil's birthplace as France rather than Italy).

Does his history come from the novelization of the first movie or the Watcher Chronicle CD-ROMs? Is there a "canon" history for him or did Thunder Castle/La Montagnard have to improvise one to fill out his card? Fasil's one of my favorite characters to play and I was just wondering if there was a "definitive" history for him?

Fasil didn't have a well defined history, so we used the previous history from 1ed and added some from the fan fiction.
