Just got home from the Islanders home opener and a 3-2 win! I know it is very early in the season, but it is nice to see your team win a back-to-back, home-at-home series against the team that bounced you from the playoffs last year! Let's go Islanders!

Excuse my ignorance, but what sport are you referring to? Headswillroll

Excuse my ignorance, but what sport are you referring to? Headswillroll Ice hockey - the National Hockey Leauge. I've always been a big fan, but unfortunately the sport isn't as big as it once was. But nothing beats a NY Islander vs. NY Ranger game. The intensity...the language...the confrontations....and that's just the fans in the stands watching the game!

As a matter of fact, in the original Highlander script, when Connor is at Madison Square Garden, he was supposed to be watching a LA Kings vs. NY Rangers hockey game. While watching the hockey sticks would remind him (in quick flashbacks) of swords and a fight breaking out on the ice reminded him (again, in a quick flashback) of the battle vs the Frasiers where he experienced his first death. But, the NHL didn't agree to having the sport used because they didn't want the sport associated with violence.....go figure...

Who would ever think that hockey is a violent sport.

Who would ever think that hockey is a violent sport. They just need hockey sticks like Subzero from Running Man and then we might see some quickenings

I see, thanks for the verification as there are many sports that could result with that score. I don't get to watch Hockey that often, so don't know all of the teams. My nephew and niece's old high school football team (Foley High)was on ESPN2 Thursday night. It was the Foley High School (5-0) versus Daphne High School game (5-0). Daphne was ranked #2 in the state and Foley was ranked #5. Daphne may have beaten Foley for the last ten years but it was not so this year, and it was an awesome nailbiter game that ended with the score of 16-14. Headswillroll

Well, my team (The Wild) are 2-0. So far so good! They started hot last season, too...didn't they? After the first meeting of the rivals in the season, the Islanders are 1-0 vs the Rangers in the season series! ;D
