Had a thought this morning, if this quasi-tournament is a go, should two headed giant have an official format, or is having any two immortals OK with everyone? By ALL MEANS 2 Headed Giant should have a format. Rules and cards have been made based on that having a format. As the rulebook states, the official format is male/female.

prowler7 Any update on the Blood of Kings Gencon Tournament 2015 format for this soiree? Due to life getting in the way, we here at Highlander are a bit behind our schedule. As soon as I have concrete news, I will share

HWR and I have been discussing this tournament.
We would like the tournament directors and regional reps to finalize a plan and run this event. With everything else going on, we feel this is a good opportunity to get you guys involved.
If this goes well, next year we can make a card or two just for this or something. This year we will have a Prize Pack for the winner(s), depending on what you guys hash out.

My suggestion is, I can orchestrate if everyone else is in agreement? I would need a week or so to come up with the exact rules but I would be happy to run even though it is Brad's suggestion and I am not a city rep. I can get together with kurganfan to help me create Gencon specific cards (printed on paper and sleeved). Some of my thoughts are. Each city rep attending can submit (1) thought to me on format, rules, etc to be used for the game and I will incorporate that so each person has a say in how it will be run. Thoughts? PS. I have a feeling though that turnout this year for HTG may be slim. Do we have any numbers for who will be there.... Me Steve Jim (HWR) Scott Todd Bill Jim (warlock) Dallis (?) Brad...

Lex, I can try and come up with a rough cut of the the rules and plan and shoot it by you for review for mid next week if that helps.
You/we could take it from there.
Would that be helpful?

Yeah, Absolutely Brad.
My quick 2 cents. I thought about either L&M(start at normal ability) or if you do a different format starting at 10 or 11 ability to keep the games at a shorter time although no time limit. The other thing is I will print cards, one to give to your opponent if they beat you and one as a holy ground that you have to relinquish to your opponent as well if you can't play them(for whatever reason) I will likely hand out multiple holy grounds pending the # of players. You can either give a holy ground or take a loss if you are out of holy grounds and refuse a dual. something along those lines.

Jeff I like the "you can run to Holy Ground" a few times before you take a loss deal. Prevents someone from capitalizing on "this guy is on his way to another event, easy score!" Lean and Mean could be okay. Maybe make it a "back to basics" - style event?

This makes head hunting more valuable and would highly encourage attacking style decks. Scott

I was not around in the good old days. So could you tell me what it all means, it sounds like a back to basics in between rounds

OK, I have a pretty good rough draft from Brad on the rules etc for B.O.K (Blood of Kings) tournament. The only thing I would like to get some input on is the format. The current draft says that it is multi-format where you can challenge someone with any format deck (type 1, type 2, 2HG, L&M or plot/hilt). I am not a huge fan of the multi-format because I don't have enough cards to construct that many decks and I don't want to carry around (5) decks at all times even if I do use proxies. This is my two cents. I still think that it should be a back to basics or something along that lines format. Input from the people who are going to be there please.
Regards. Jeff

I would be against multi-format. I'm thinking back to basics (or at the very least standard / type two).
