I play Divine Intervention (Event) on a Bob Q. Are the cards I included with the BoB Q removed from game, removed to discard, or something else?
Same question, Methos Master Q this time.
I play Divine Intevention (Edge NULLIFY) on a Bob Q. Are the cards I included with the BoB Q removed from game, removed to discard, or something else?
Same question, Methos Master Q this time.

For the Divine Intervention Event answer, look at the "Removing Cards From The Game" entry of the "Other Game Aspects" section of the Type One Rule Book. For the Divine Intervention Edge answer, look at the "Nullifying" entry of the "Other Game Aspects" section of the Type One Rule Book. HWR

I have read those sections, but my interpretation is not the important one. I was told that judge rulings can have 'varying' interpretations at larger tournaments. Someone suggested getting rulings ahead of time.
I assumed... Removed from game with Event DI. Seems obvious. Cards stay in with Edge DI. Could see a judge erring here.
On a side note, I purposely worded the question so that it would actually take less typing to answer the question directly instead of cite the rulebook. Both would have been nice though.
Nullifying: When you Nullify a card or its effects, the card has no effect on any card, player, rule or effect in the game for the duration of the effect.
Removing Cards from the Game: If a card allowing you to add cards to your Endurance is removed, the added card or cards must also be removed. If a card forces you to remove cards from the game, first search your discard pile, then your Endurance, then your hand, and finally cards you have in play to find the card that must be removed.

Then to be perfectly clear -
If either of those Qs are removed from the game, the cards they allow in your deck are ALSO removed from the game.
If either of those Qs are nullified, you are unable to play the cards the Qs allowed you to put into your deck until the effect is gone.
Yes, in the past ruling have been different at events run by the company because there was not a unified understanding of the rules, either by tournament directors or by employees. We are working to make sure all of the employees equally understand and interpret the rules.

To add further to Prowler's reply, there will be copies of the Type One and Type Two Rulebooks and the appropriate updates at the Midwest Regionals this coming weekend, since those are what the game is governed by. I know Dallis will be running some of the tourneys as well as myself, and possibly other members of the Design Team. This area is used to playing by the rules found in the rulebooks, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Can you Divine your own material out with 1st edition Divine Interventions? It's only on the 2nd Edition Divines that states "your opponents", not the 1st ed one. If so...I can see some abuse there. Not much...but something I would do. Remove 6 Master Cards, Remove 10 Generics and then remove 5 (with A&T) a 44 card lean and mean deck becomes a 23 card deck...minus 6 lean and means = 17 cards.

Yes, with the old Divines you CAN target your own pregames.

Not many would venture this road due to the fact of wasting two to three turns Divining your own stuff while your opponent is hammering at you or getting his stuff out. I know a few that would try it, but haven't yet for the reason I gave. A standard build nowadays comes out hitting and building, not sitting building up strategy only.

Here's a question as well . . . and I am probably wrong but I will ask.
But when the card in question is removed from the game, why are the cards removed from the game? Wouldn't they stay in your hand, deck or discard pile, you wouldn't be able to play them of course, but they could still be there . . . why would they get removed?

This question has come up at the convention this weekend and is now currently under consideration for change. As per usual, it will go through committee and we will see how it ends up.

prowler, if there's a way to join that committee I would like to know . . . PM me I have some other thoughts as well . . . Also, it would make perfect sense that you make a deck around something specific like a Q or a Hunter/Watcher and if it's removed from play then there shouldn't be a rule stating that the cards are removed from the game . . . they should simply stay in your hand, discard pile or deck . . . thus if you draw one of them then it's a stagnant card in your hand the justification of playing a specific deck you get the good cards, but if that card that allows you to play them goes away then your stuck with the cards until you can get rid of them from your hand normally ( or in play ) the good with the bad.

prowler, if there's a way to join that committee I would like to know As I have stated before, there is no way to "join that committee". HWR and I were ASKED to join. Please dont bring this subject up, it only led to a lot trouble the last time.
