I chose the 1ed Rapier, supported by the 2ed Rapier cards. I like it because it gives extra attacks and has good support cards.

Well since there were not choices for the Black Phoenix Fan, Saint Anne's Broadsword, or the Parry Blade, I opted for the Saber/Sabre. You have two choices on ability which gives it great diversity, and can definitely mix it up with the support cards from both editions for Type One.

Gladius has interesting hidden attacks, which was not so good in 1e but is better since they neutered Connor MacLeod in type 2. I like to have opponents guess what my hidden attacks will do because statistically more guesses should either use up better defenses or fail.

Wakazahi
I actually like this weapon, I know I can't make a power blow unless it's a head shot, but the support cards for this weapon make it so interesting, along with the Katana combo, of attacking through areas that I just blocked and Master of the Katana you can have some pretty nifty defenses sitting up in a Guard position.
But, as I said I like the Wakazahi, and for the main reason of Sneak Attack and it's Gold-gridded Attack.
Thanks, Cat

1. Rapier hands down (or up) Multiple attacks: Flashing Blade makes anyone an attacking beast. Why do you think there are so many new defense cards versus multiple attacks? You can play additional attacks w/ Flashing Blade(the equivalent of a katana) Instead of playing it as your first attack, you simply play it last. Swashbuckler adds a non spec attack (1st ed) or a spec attack (2nd ed.) Instead of playing basic attacks, I change it out with riposte, dirty tricks, etc. or add a pistol with the attack. With counter, you can attack to where you just dodged. AdvantagesGood support cards Flashing Blade, Swashbuckler etc. You can multi attack and still play specials. Ex:You can HS with your second attack. Disadvantageslower damage Annie/Rebecca/ etc get 4 att/ turn easy Ramirez's Master's Block has a built in Flashing Blade it's sooo deadly. Connor/Duncan (1st ed get 2 attacks-where you just blocked plus an additional) Kurgan still does 2 damage with basic attacks. Slan can still PB with his second attack. etc. 2. Katana 1st ed Multiple attacks w/ Lightning Strike: you can make an easy run of UB + UD attacks. And add a Spc attack, PB, or a ranged attack at the end or whatever you want. AND still play play a Spc. Kronos, Annie, Hyde, Fitz, and RR do it very effectively. Anyone can make a very lethal Lightning Strike deck. They seem to work best in L&M. 2nd Ed Great support cards Master of/ Balanced Blade/Focused Block All sweet! Huge disadvantage (for me) not a lot of multi attack support cards. Most attacks are easily defended with a single defense. 3. English Longsword Better than a Broad Bladed Spear Makes every Evade a Master's Dodge still make ranged attacks drawback no Counters (I substitute/add MD's) Not a viable weapon (IMO) for RR or Fitz (their counters are too good)

Gladius, vey powerful, a lot of option. Katana should be my favorite weapon because it is IRL, but in first ed it's useless and in second ed, flaws is not the right one regards what it is IRL.

What is IRL? Sorry, I am not good with all of the computer abreviations. Have you considered Type One format? It mixes the new 2nd edition unbugged product with the 1ed product. The rulebook is in the resources file, take a look, enjoy.
