Just wonder what your favorite weapon of Choice is and why.
I like the Rapier. I get 2 attacks from the start with little downside.

Rapier or War Axe are almost the only weapons I ever use (apart from the Parrying Blade alongside the rapier every now and then). Some specialized decks might use the Gladius, but that's rare (usually just to capitalize on stabs).

I like the claymore due to the fact that you can put it with the 3 or 5 quickening and make one card exertions. It is just difficult to fit in most decks. Headswillroll

Kalas with 1handed Mace was a beast in playtest when Arms and Tactics came out. As was Kurgan with Sword Cane. Mace never made it...........and you can thank me for that. I playtested the heck out of that thing. Sadly, some other cards made it in that really shouldn't have.
Parrying Blade is my favorite, simply because it lets me use Suprise Attacks. All the "Main hand" weapons are pretty well balanced. Rapier is probably my favorite of that bunch.
Shield is kinda fun just cuz nobody plays it.

Kurgan with the claymore follow up deck can be kind of nasty. one card exertions for undodgable power blows

Bah!
Nothing beats Kurgan with Sword Cane.............except Kalas with Mace.

That may be ,however I think everyone was talking about cards that have been printed. If you are steering into the unprinted cards, I wouuld have to pick the Scimitar from MLE. It was a good ability with good support cards. Headswillroll

I think I was out of the game by the time MLE started up.
Scimitar must have been something special cuz Kalas/Mace and Kurgan/Sword Cane were absoulute beasts in playtest.
I posted earlier about the Parrying Blade being my favorite from 1e.
There was another thread about 2e WOC's and I think I am getting the two mixed up.
In 2e I like Rapier or Katana.

What exactly did Mace and Sword Cane do? You obviously really like them, but any comments you make about them are meaningless to anyone who hasn't seen them. Don't keep the secret all to yourself.

The Mace itself wasn't that special outside of the hands of Kalas. It has attacks that could only be defended from an exertion and Kalas' Intimidate prevented them from making exertions. 4 points of easy damage. With Kalas' ability games ended very quick and were very one sided.
Sword Cane was awsome with Kurgan. I didn't playtest that one as extensivle as Mace, so I'm a little foggy on all the stuff it had. It gave you lots of extra attacks at one less damage, but, with Kurgan's +1 Damage ability you still did normal damage. lost of tricks to make them unblockable or undodgeable. Kronos could shut it down, but, If you didn't have a lot of defenses, Kurgan/Swrod Cane would just chew you up.

The Sword Cane sounds like a combination between the Rapier and the Parrying Blade.

How would you be able to take someone's head with a mace?

Sorta, yeah. I remember it having somthing to do with the cane sheath too. Unless I'm just confusing that with old conversations I had about how cool it would be to have cards that represent sheath effects.

Now you have all piqued my interest.
I have a BOX full of old playtest cards, of which the Mace and Sword Cane SHOULD still exist. I will take time this weekend to dig through there and see if I have those cards. If so, I will post them. However, I will send a PM to Tim and crew and make sure they dont have a problem with me posting that. I dont know what, if any, access to those old playtest cards they have and if any of them may be used, so I dont want to step on any toes.
