So, I am wondering how the stars below our names work.
For instance, I have 3 stars and they are Brown in color.
BUt, Prowler7 has 1 Star and it is Blue.
I thought it might be Posts, but Prowler has 150+ posts and I only have 50..
Maybe I go through 5 brown stars before I get 1 blue one..
At any rate, how does this mystifying system work???

Heya!
I have wondered as well. And how long before I change titles?

0-9 posts = Neophyte 1 yellow star 10-24= Neophyte 2 yellow stars 25-34= Immortal 2 Green stars 35-49= Immortal 3 Green Stars 50-74= The Quickened 3 Red Stars 75-99=The Quickened 4 Red Stars 100-249=Four Horsemen 1 Blue Stars 250-349=Four Horsemen 2 Blue Stars 340-499=Four Horsemen 3 Blue Stars 500+= Watcher 6 blue stars
I'm open suggestions on titles and post counts. Also eventually I will be replacing the Stars with different icons, just have to find some HL themed ones.

If the number of posts per title is determined by the admin and not the software itself, 665 (the number of heads Jacob Kell took) posts could get you a name from Hihglander 4. The only thing that seems to make sense as a group member name though is Posse member, which seems a bit of a let down for that high a post count.

I have updated the ranks to prowlers suggested setting since they do sound good to me, but I'm still open for more suggestions.
James: that sounds like a good idea. How about this, when you get to 665 posts your rank will be "In Kells Class" and you get your own custom subtitle that is listed under your stars?

Seeing as I am the person who originally suggested the current naming scheme used on the boards, I have a new suggestion:
Since there are some folks with well over 1000 posts now, maybe it is approaching time to readjust the post counts for the names. Maybe keep 665 as "Being In Kells Class" but move "Four Horseman" up to 1000 posts (keeping the original 4 of us with our titles of course if we would no longer qualify).
Just a suggestion. Seeing as how this numbering was done back when having a couple hundred posts was a REALLY big deal, it is becoming absolete as the board gets older.

Wow, you resurrected a thread almost a year old.
You are like a zombie thread MASTER, second only to Tim Small.
We bow to your nearly superior skills.

how can i drop the mikey thing? I cant say for sure, but step one might be NOT resurrecting threads nearly a year old with nothing constructive to add to it. In fact, posting in threads for the sake of posting, without anything constructive to add is a very bad idea. Especially after you have been warned so many times by various people AND most importantly the head Moderator. Just some advice.

Sorry for the additional necro, but if you still want some non-stars for the rank images, I can probably help. I do image work for some other forums and I'm used to working with small sizes... Couple of questions: Do you need/want them to be in the same format, i.e. 1,2,2,3,4,1,etc... or can they be a single long image? Because I was thinking swords might fit well into that space... for instance here's a VERY rough mockup: They could also be done more 'cartoony' like the current stars, rather than from photographs.
