I have no desire to see generic immortals. There are already so many immortals on the show that I don't see the need for a generic (so many in fact that it started to strain credibility, especially after they dropped The Gathering as the reason you saw so many). In any case, I think Ritchie makes a good stand in for a generic immortal. If you think that's still too strong then drop his second ability and/or lower his Master score to 3. But bear in mind that not everyone has the time or opportunity to slog through every thread on a forum looking for rule exceptions. The rules that come in the starters say "for complete rules go to www.HighlanderTCG.com" and those rules (still) clearly state that you can use generic immortals. If you don't want people talking about it then take it out of the officially posted rules. There's no way for a new person coming into the game to know that they can't use generic immortals; if anything they're going to think the opposite. Also, it would also be nice if you didn't have to come to the forums just to find out what the Attributes stand for. These are important concepts and they should really be included in the basic rules IMO. jolt

The only valid argument for not having generic immortals is that players may not want to invest in a lot of cards and may not be a moneymaker for the company. But why not treat generics like any other persona and make cards for them. Remove the "you may use one of each non-reserved card from each immortal" rule. So that there can be limits on a generics power. With multiple types of generics like in type one... each with differing gem values but ultimately they would all have the same pool of cards to draw from. Ultimately guys... whether generics would be competitive or not, let the players that want them... have the option to play a generic. I would even be willing to pay extra for a limited edition "tin" with only generic immortal cards and personas.

Speaking with Tim last night, we had a lengthy discussion about Generics. If you read these boards, you know I am a fan of them. However, he makes a very good point in that by the time they release Season 6, they will have made nearly 100 personas. This STILL leaves room for them to go back and do the ones they skipped if they want to continue with expansions. With the sheer NUMBER of named immortals, the company doesnt see the need to make Generic immortals, they would rather give those abilities to a named character.
