You guys all need to petition Mike to get the new edition off the ground. Learn from the mistakes and triumphs of 1e and 2e, and make a new version people want to play Mike does not have the kind of money, connections, or business savvy to pull off a resurgence of this game. Maybe if there was interest outside the card world from a new movie or tv show. But to resurrect a dead card game while having it attached to a basically forgotten property would be a challenge for anyone no matter their business acumen. Swordmaster on the other hand if translated into another property like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Historical fighting, or any other open domain concept could be viable. It is Highlander that is not working, the system is still great.

There have been plenty of petitions and pleas to Mike, including outlines of plans to make the game again. A version if the game with the system and a non-copywrited property is the way to go. Kickstarter works wonders for funding. And I think most agree that the collectible path is not the way to go.

Right here right now we have an opportunity. While the game is in flux, we as a community can change rules to what we can all agree on. Dont like the Exertion Rule? Lets change it to something better? Amanda Lockdown? Lets fix it.
Here is the chance to lay GROUNDWORK for the future.

As far as I understand, Mike pays a royalty on each card for images used.

Russel.
Really? Did you not see the Highlander boardgame fully funded on Kickstarter within minutes?... which was based on the original movie! This is a lame excuse which was destroyed by the last two Kickstarter campaigns. This excuse is invalid.

i come back after several years to read the same arguments. I am just happy to see some of the old names still here. Steve, Jim, Brent, Tim and a few others. I am the headlessone, John Sanders from Blue Springs and would love to play a game at all, since im around no one that plays. Keep your heads up and on your shoulders. Enjoy the game as it was designed. No One deck was the most powerful. Going back to Duncan Machine and Methos in the 1E era. Or MANY powerful personas of 2E era. I even won a few World Champs....took Steve Rice's head with kenny in a 1E tourny. Or a 2E lean and mean world championship with Faith. They game is perfect. It is up to the players to find, crack and fill the holes of their local meta.

This is a lame excuse which was destroyed by the last two Kickstarter campaigns. This excuse is invalid. Kickstarter is all fine and good but that does not pay for advertising campaigns, continued product support, employees for more then a few months. I mean starting a game is easy, supporting it into a success is far harder. Look at the kickstarter it would not pay for even one employee for the year. So that means you need a dedicated group of people willing to work for free. Those people did that and I am guessing they will not do it again. This is a dead game for a reason, it did not just all of a sudden die. Those reasons have not changed.
