It is that time of the week again. I am recovering from the insanity that was the Oscars (Benjamin Button for Visual Effects?) and have turned my gaze towards the weekly event at Misty Mountain. Lucky for me I have a deck prepared, because between packing for my impending move, UFC 95 and the Oscars -- there was no time for deck building. Which is too bad as a new deck came to mind on Friday. So, I will begin with my predictions for the week. I am pretty sure I will be off, but the guys have come to expect these. Secretly I think they expect them so they can change their decks up. They still don't believe I prep my decks based on what I think they will play. Van the Man[ager] -- I am going with Malick as he keeps trading for the Malick cards, so one of these weeks the deck will show up. Or at least it should! Josh "El Duderino" -- I am anticipating mill. I am thinking Great Sword (probably Grayson, maybe Gallen) or the return of the Gladius Slan. I hear that some wags call him Slan the Cat - because he's a pus... uh, nevermind. The German Kid -- Something nasty is his usual MO. If it was constucted I would say Marcus Octavius within 83%. I will knock that down to 42% for Lean and Mean. If not Marcus, we may see Corda and Reno again. That deck is pretty nasty in Lean and Mean format. Zombie Joe -- Something with 44 cards. I can say with upmost certainty that there will be 6 copies of Lean and Mean in the deck. Oh, and a weapon of choice. ;D I suppose we will find out how spot on I am tomorrow. Although I know for a fact my four prediction is spot on.

Actually I think it is fun to see how well you anticipate what we are going to play. I know you know the backup ala, Slan Gladius. You did guess the playstyle I want to play correcting though not the persona. As for the German Kid, I don't see Octavius coming until the next full constructed. Though I have no guess somehow I am thinking something like Nef or Mako for him.

If he plays Mako L&M again, I am calling INS on him. Although I think he is looking to play something new. Mix it up a bit.

Then maybe Kyala since she is miss Lean&Mean I just don't buy him trying to play a break weapon deck in the lean and mean format.

Then maybe Kyala since she is miss Lean&Mean I just don't buy him trying to play a break weapon deck in the lean and mean format. Oh, I sooo would. Easiest to do it in L&M and people tend to sacrifice disarm toolbox in a L&M format. And the little witch gets to ignore a Plot or sit w/ her L&M. So she won't draw as speedily but I think she could be very lethal. Her MD is effective against bloodlust et al. and she can Cleaving parry (one of the multiple attacks)/disarm event/ and add w/ break weapons. Deep Wound 'em Needle Work Perfect stroke Practice...Practice... What rearms(fixes) broken weapons in type 2? anything? HS away ...

Dojo
If he tries breaking a weapon he will do it with Marcus. Just was thinking he may try Kyala. Heck if I had Kyala persona I would play it in Lean and Mean.

Broken weapon is treated as disarm. The only difference is that you cannot soft or hard exert to regain your weapon. Things like Extra Weapon, Joe Dawson, etc. would still work to rearm you.

When you weapon is broken, you are disarmed. You cannot make a Soft Exertion to gain your weapon back, because it is broken. If you have a Watcher: Fair Fight, Extra Weapon or cards like these, then you can gain your weapon back.
You cannot use a recover weapon, because you would just recover your broken weapon.

Only Dojo is effective against broken weapons(you're not rearmed-it just allows you to attack & block) You can nullify this location ;D. I'm waiting on other cards which say you can't attack w/o a weapon... I was commenting on the fact she could do it also(Marcus is better IMO) but in L&M she already has the 6L&M's to focus or foil specials which frees up other slots for disarm, break weapon, etc That was more my point

I like you idea for Kyala break weapon. Don't have the cards to fulfill it, but like it anyway. Tim answered the question about works just above your post.

I love how even my event predictions/reports become rules discussions. And - not that it matters - I was never assuming Recover Weapon to work. Just the ones mentioned (Watch Fair Fight, Extra Weapon, etc.).

Just the ones mentioned (Watch Fair Fight, Extra Weapon, etc.). Yeah, Type 1 is infinitely easier to protect against broken weapons. Wow, I don't usually say this since I'm a Type1 groupie but all your characters are type 2 and you leaned towards type 2... I just assumed...wrongly If it was marked I apologize otherwise...in type 2 breaking a weapon is an easy-effective strategy with little or no counters
