Another key point is that the Reserved Symbol is there for Type one play as well...and those DIRTY GENERIC IMMORTALS!!!

Kane's Open Mind works on immortal specific cards in 1st edition anyways. There could always be more cards that work like that made.

Kane's Open Mind simply says all persona specific cards. They dont have to be reserved for it to work.

Yea. I was trying to imply the same could be done with reserved cards and now that I read it again wasn't very clear about it. I always thought it was possibly a little over powered the way it was but not unbalancing.

It seems I forgot about Generic Immortals. I look at all the rules and such from the Type Two view so those didn't even cross my mind.

I wouldnt bother thinking about generic immortals either. They werent worth playing in the original game, adn they dont exist in 2e. =)

I can see why you arent making generic immortals in 2ed, the gem thing would be really screwy and with the amount of NEW personas you are doing, it negates the need for Generic. However, saying that in 1ed and now Type One that Generic Immortals arent worth playing is just a statement of ignorance regarding what they can do. I would say that Generic Immortals are JUST as viable an option in Type One as the 2ed Yung Dol Kim and Corda & Reno are in Type Two.

It all depends on skill and luck, the old Generics had a good power.

It all depends on skill and luck Everything in this game depends on skill and luck. Sometimes one can help out the other, but you MUST have both to be successful.

I've never lost to a generic immortal. I never will lose to a generic immortal. If I eve rlose a game of highlander to a generic immortal, I will likely give away all of my cards and quit the game.
They suck. They were never meant to be competitive, and their NOT COMPETITIVE. They were there, because it was hard as hell to get personas in the old game, they werent in every starter deck. The only time a generic immortal was worth bothering with, was a generic immortal only tournament.
For those of you that love generics for whateve rreason, you can argue it until your blue in the face, but no they are not competitive with Methos, or Duncan, or Kronos, or Cassandra etc... Your in denial if you think anything else.
